Ok, way off-topic here, but huge areas of entertainment started to go downhill as far as celebrities are concerned. And not only.
Mid 00's is the death of live-action stunts in films for example, no more films like Heat, Terminator II. CGI infected films altogether making them look like cartoons, now it's Ant Man and whatever Marvel come up with next
. Rock bands decline and rise of Pop, Lady Gaga, Nicky Minaj, or whatever. Opera with the 3 tenors died off in the 90s (maybe early 00's), what I wouldn't give to go to a Pavarotti concert. Frankly, only tennis and football thanks to Pep's Barca is something to take away from modern times in terms of entertainment. After tennis greats retire, tennis will go through a dark period as well. There's gaming, here the advancement is huge, but it was never my thing in terms of entertainment.
80's - 90's for me. Fecking hell, movies all-time high (my favorite movies are from that period), music insane, Jordan, Ayrton Senna - F1 all-time high, boxing heavyweight had insane fights with Lewis, Tyson, Hollyfield, football was damn great too. Now they have Mayweather fighting a youtuber for money

In that sense, I'm sure there were dumb celebrities like Dembele around in the 90's too. But for fuck's sake, I don't see anyone worth investing in as far as celebrities are concerned. Everything is a cash grab.

Don't think celebrities are worth following or investing in, in general tbh. Different worlds to most people, always in their own bubble. Always a PR machine behind them making them look better than they probably are, which is fine.

I agree in general. There are some exceptions though. People who stand out doing more than what is expected of them. Sometimes there is more behind all the PR, which is there with all celebs. But with the current lot, can't think of any.
