Ok, fleeing = conceding the point.

Thanks,
Dembele is an elite dribbler, whether you like it or not.

You cannot distort reality to fit your idiosyncratic narrative

PS: Present to make your L more sour

All games this season:
Dembele 94/151 dribbles Success rate: 62.25 %
Messi 180/281 dribbles Success rate: 64.05 %

"Dembele is not a good dribbler"

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Adama Traore is an elite dribbler too.

Think of it we paid 140m for a slightly better Adama Traore.

Alright, for an "elite dribbler" do me a favor.

See the type of move pulled off at 0:15? Find me 10 instances of Dembele exhibiting that sort of control, under pressure, in the past 4 years. Not even something as elaborate as Ribery's skill move. I just want 10 instances of Dembele having the ball glued to his foot, exhibiting quick change of balance, and skills to dribble himself out of a situation where he lacks space and time. That's it.

I can do it with Leroy Sane. I can do it with Sancho. I can do it with Foden. I can do it with Eze. I can do it with Zaha. I can do it with Saint-Maximin. Sometimes even within a single season. Dembele? I can't find 10 instances of him using close control to pull himself out of a situation with no time and space throughout his entire 4 years at Barcelona. I have got two (one against levante and another against Espanyol).

If you can do that, I'll call him an elite dribbler.

Dembele is not an elite dribber, whether you like it or not.
An example to make you actually open your eyes:

Traore 153/216 dribbles in EPL alone = 70% success rate
Dembele like you posted above.

Tell me which one is better. And remember that Traore is not really a great dribbler. He is of course really good one. But it is his pace and strength that make him beating his opponents, not really his close control. Dembele is pacy runner but much worse than Traore.

Look at 33 years old Messi who lost his speed and acceleration, he still beats his opponents by skill and close control. That is elite. Or like Iniesta who is elite dribbler but he didn't try to beat his opponents directly, he simply could get away when surrouned by several players (may not counted as dribble won by stats). That is elite.

Wacth football with your eyes for once. You sure are the guy who only watch live score lol.

IQ tests measure more than just pattern recognition lol. Playing musical instruments involves pattern recognition, and mentally challenged savants with an IQ of <75 can be musical prodigies.

Key part is "involves".
Yes there are outliers and exceptions both in football and music, but those excelling in either will have a higher IQ on average than the general population - so it is false that it has "nothing to do with" each other, this was what I a bit nitpickily corrected in your post, not to "get you" but just for clarity, as I thought you'd agree.
But your claim was also that players who are smart on the pitch are not smarter outside of the pitch than players who are dumb on the pitch, that is an absurd statement!

Outside of the argument, do you have a link to some info about a sub-75 IQ musical prodigy? Asking out of curiosity.

Dribble = beat your marker while still retaining the ball.
This is how they calculate dribbles. And obviously a pacy player, even with worse technique like Dembele can have some nice stats. Simply outrun them. That is kick and run.

Dribbling overall is more than that. Stats are helpful but not the whole picture.

Yup, this is exactly my view. Dembele benefits from his absurd athleticism, not his skills as a footballer.

Mate, do you get that this is your own definition of dribbling?
And its rather very specific in that it concerns the 'how' and not the 'what' is being done
As such, it excludes tons of footballers who can dribble.

You like Messi and Iniesta style of dribbling. Fine. I like them too.
That does not mean in any possible world that Dembele is not an elite dribbler, if he has that success rate.

Maybe he is a dribbler that does not dribble the way you want him too.
Who gives a shit about they way you want him to dribble?

Same here.
Who cares about what you like to see in a dribble and what not?
No one.

Funny that you cite players like Foden who have a much lower success rate than Dembele in dribbling

Exactly. Dembele doesn't "dribble" past a lot of players but runs.

He has elite acceleration and speed for Spanish league.
