Are we still in? This is embarrassing.

Now they will pull "we were never IN before socios said so, so we are not out because we were not in so we are out but we also are in because we didn't say we were out but we never were in because nothing happened yet, so, ... question from the lady in the back row... yes it is a sunny day isn't it" etc. etc. etc. walking out of the room...

Heard someone mention in another place that Perez broke RM club law by doing this, you supposedly aren't allowed to just go rogue and enter a new competition, you have to get 2/3 of club members to agree to it first.

El Gato

Villarato!
Greatly lowers my estimation of Florentino's abilities as a President as well and his role in RM's recent CL success.

It's mostly about having the right players, which sometimes luck decides.

He was never that great thinking of what can go wrong and has several blind spots. Shouldn't have announced any new comp without iron-clad contracts for participants.

Unless of course they were and the sheikhs are happy to take litigation damage and absorb the cost while keeping their position while supported by Ceferin.

if Perez has any decency left, he will resign.

What's decency got to do with it? If he had decency he'd prepare a better format.

hopefully the naive fans can understand now that it is all about money, regardless of the path chosen by the 'mighty' EPL clubs. once UEFA sweetened the deal and found a couple of billions stashed under the mattress it was games over. with the TV deal they got plus 4 UCL spots + added billions, they are set either way.

the likes of ozil can tweet now safe in the know that he saved football. all this while turkish fans gather money through sms to pay his fat salary.

Maybe waiting for the collapse of the whole project or waiting for the members' assembly are the only legal ways out of this mess. Looks like this was a last "gift" of Bartomeu, who announced the club's participation in an European Super League in his resignation speech. Joining it was his last act.
Bartomeu revealed that Bar?a had signed up to the proposal during a 35 minute speech to confirm his resignation on Tuesday night. That involvement is subject to ratification and approval at a members? assembly. The Catalan club have also agreed to a new format in the Fifa-led Club World Cup.

?I can announce some extraordinary news,? said Bartomeu. ?Yesterday we accepted a proposal to participate in a future European Super League, which would guarantee the future financial sustainability of the club. And we?ve accepted the future CWC format.?
