Lionel Messi - v7

Nowadays it looks like when he doesnt succeed with his first involvements in a big game, he never turns it around. Yes he can still have some genious moments but overall its always a meh game after such a start. Also, I feel like he tries the same actions over and over again (this has become a more frequent habit the last seasons), even when its clearly not working. Why he never ever goes on the right wing is also a mystery to me

We need to let him go absolutely. We need to rebuild now. If he continues.. Titles are not guaranteed.. What is guaranteed is that after additional 1 2 years we will have to relearn how to do basic collective attacks without him.. I think this summer is the best time.

This shit gets said every time Messi plays poorly.

It is used as a defence as if dont attack him as no one else can do it.. if not for poor defending, referee decision and width of cross bar that game changes.

Messi was poor and as best player and one team is built for that will have most impact.

He has an OK game. Break Madrid defense by himself and actually invole in the only goal.

Can?t say worst performance cause he rarely got the ball in a good place ....

Things won?t change next season... unfortunately I don?t see laporta getting rid of busquets alba the french players too

He deserve to end his career with another cl

Hopefully he moves to psg or man city

He got the ball a lot in final third.

Was poor simple as that. Folk need to accept Messi can be poor and stop scrambling for excuses.

Does fuck all in big matches. Why are people still sucking him dry when he is just a flat track bully.

Messi is 33 and on huge wages. Wages that (especially in this time) will prevent Barca from making any top class long term upgrades (Harland, Mbappe category of players).

Barca needs to let him walk this season and replace his goals with the goals from a proper 9 - Haaland. Haaland will score and provide Barca with the player they miss the most - a striker/true 9. He won?t assists nearly as much as Messi. But that?s where the support comes in. Shifting to a 4-3-3 (I?m aware they still use it some of the time) from Koeman?s current 3-5-2 will work better with Haaland as striker flanked by Dembele and Ansu Fati than their current setup with Messi. They along with Pedri, De Jong (who will permanently play in midfield), Busquets, Dest and of course Alba will provide the assists.

Remember also that Ansu Fati started the season better than Messi with 4 goals in 7 matches, and he likely would have hit 15-20 goals this season with his shooting ability. Fati can act as consistent goal scoring forward or backup striker to Haaland (has played the position successfully at youth level). With Fati and Dembele flanking Haaland I?m convinced that they would look better than with Messi.

Tonight in a crucial match vs Madrid and also vs Valladolid Messi was bang average. He looked awful with his touch on the ball, his passing and his sharpness in front of goal. He looked like Ronaldo in some of the latter?s worst matches this season. Being a focal point isn?t good if you don?t show the necessary quality (especially vs teams ranked firmly below you). He has been a top player in 2021 based in stats and his overall play, but he isn?t the future. And even though he?s rightfully like a god in Barcelona they shouldn?t let sentimentality but sensibility guide their decision.
The sensible thing is to go all out for a young world class attacking player (preferably a 9) and replace Messi this summer!

Don?t give him a new contact with high wages limiting them in the transfer market and in their tactical setup. Laporta, I beg you. Sometimes you have to let go of the thing you love. This is one of those times.

I'm worried that he wants to join City but then they'll win the CL this year and then he can't go there without becoming a meme like KD.

He was aggressively tackled at least 4 times (especially from casemiro)..
I think the big problem this game when it comes to attack is that: we don't have a proper CF in front of him, and there is no winger who can dribble and open some space for him.
In a better line-up surely, he'd be much more effective. Our team has some many weaknesses and inexperience, actually.

Chill penaldo fan :

Bitches and moans more than he plays football.

Bad touched and not precise passing and shooting at all.

Sell to City or PSG. Hell, maybe that Saudi Prince in Newcastle can pay an obscene amount of money.

Shit touches, walking around and does not do much, does not score at the required rate.

Let us get to the future NOW! Buy world class young players and implement them now in the setup. The longer we keep him the longer it will take to catch up to Madrid in the future.

Yes, very bad vibe. Not captain worthy.

Fuck it.

Let him leave.

He protected Valverde, protected his declining friends and failed to show leadership on multiple occasions on and off the pitch in relation to the board.

Weak ass.

Disgusting post from Leo.

This man is NO leader. A protector of friends, but too narrow in his mindset. Leo cannot seem to grasp the fact the the board AND manager AND select players have been part of the problem, including his best buddy.

Nice Leo.

You can give your loverboy Suarez and also Neymar penalties, but not Ansu, who won the penalty, to complete his hattrick at age 17?

I guess padding stats means more.

Pathetic pussy performance.

Act like a fucking captain.

Fuck Messi for being so shit.

Be more like Ronaldo!

Messi has always been jealous of Cristiano, and how could he not?

He has a killer instinct that Messi can only dream of having. A drive to improve always. A determination to be the best.

Ronaldo has the heart of the champion, the body of a Greek God and the speed and reflexes of Neo from the Matrix.

Nobody is better than Ronaldo. Nobody.

Only Messi would get that pass to Alba held up as 'directly involved in goal'.

A good chance to Alba that leads to a potential penalty, a direct corner kick that hit the post....
You really think he can do more at 34 years old when his supports are nearly non existence???
