i agree that we were never going to win the CL, but there's a difference between being eliminated and being humiliated. EV made defeatism and losing the norm, and he was never punished for it, which impressed upon the players for 3 straight years that failure was tolerable. to say nothing of his awful signings and the terrible football he had us play.

the argument that no matter whos in charge blah blah is also bollocks. why bother having a manager then? if you really thought that, then thered be no reason to criticize Setien, either, or Koemann, or anyone, really. obviously thats not the case

He was an awful fucking manager who had no guts. He really let the entitlement culture flourish at the club and those cl humiliations brutally exposed us for what we were. A soft team with no mental or physical strength.
The job of cleaning up his and Barto mess has just begun
