Lionel Messi - v7

Are you really siding with Bartomeu? Bartomeu probably knows Messi can leave on a free but he's trying his best to bring Messi down with him. It's not going to work.

Messi has done more for the club than any other Barcelona player in history. Bartomeu has tried to destroy this club. I know which person I'm siding with.

Skipping training is as unprofessional as it gets, nothing to do with Barto

Status quo is not going to force Bartomeu to sit down and negotiate an exit gracefully. He'll keep posturing until someone puts the pressure on him to do it.

At this point he want to avoid being seen as the President under whom Messi left the club. Even if it costs Barca the chance of getting a good compensation and an amicable exit.

[AS] | Bar?a fired Cuatrecasas law firm for advising Messi on his intention to leave the club.

Bar?a have deemed the law firm's involvement in Messi's potential departure from the club as unacceptable.

Starting to understand this decision more and more...

Thats the most reasonable thing Barto did this entire saga ;D

He's not hurting Barto with this he is hurting the fans and tarnishing everything we stand for as a club.

He has a contract it should be fulfilled

That contract is questionable. If anything, I'm willing to bet Bartomeu knows Messi has a case where he can leave but he's trying his best to make it difficult. Honestly, fuck him. He's fucked this club over enough. He doesn't deserve anything.

Both Messi's and Bartomeu's move is understandable, but it's really not a good look for either party.

Barto should just negotiate a fee and get it over with.

People say negotiate a fee as if any club has offered anything lol.

City is trying to get him on a free folks. They don't give a shit about giving us anything worthwhile fuck them

Exactly

Barto is GONE in a matter of MONTHS.

When Messi skips training to go on strike while we pay his wages and has his lawyers work on him leaving us for FREE to join an oil club flush with money, how the hell is this acceptable?

Barca suffers, not Barto, he'll be long gone relaxing on a beach somewhere. This truly is the cult of Messi

It's been reported that City are willing to pay or trade certain players like Eric Garcia and Angelino for him. Can only offer something and start negotiating when Bartomeu agrees to sit down and do it. Right now he's not willing to meet or talk with Messi, his father or his lawyers.

Great article on Marca.

And this, and they reportedly still want Barca to negotiate a sale with Man City, but explain that to these Fox News watching idiots who believe this is a FIFA 20 Career Mode simulation where you can do whatever you want and are in charge 100% of the time.

Not saying it isn't professional, but I honestly don't care anymore. Just let him go for a decent fee. We can move on.

We've had hard times before, and we would have had to play without Messi eventually. We can rebuild.

Regardless, this is all Bartomeu's fault in the first place. He's personally destroyed this club. And I hope we take him to court when he's out of the office.

Trading a 20 year old prospect and a decent LB is an insult when you're getting Lionel Messi for god sake one year left on his contract or not.

you don't understand. Messi wanted to negotiate with Barca, but Barto refused. The options are two: Messi forces the things and goes to court to prove he has the right to leave for free or negotiate with Barto for a decent fee for his sale.

Only in FC Cuckalona is Barto at fault for asking Messi to honour his contract which he is paid 1m a week to do so.

Shame on Messi for trying to take advantage of the club's goodwill by trying to use a clause that was meant for a return to Argentina not a European rival ffs

[Alfremartinezz] | Leo Messi will not go tomorrow to take the tests to rejoin Barcelona. He reaffirms that his contract has expired and that his decision to leave the club is final. Tomorrow, he will not rejoin the team's discipline, and he has made this known to the club.

Stunning.

In his contract there is a clause which allows Messi to leave for free, your dear Barto agreed to that with Messi when they signed the contract.

Messi's lawyers right now deem Messi free to leave the club so Barca are not paying him a penny for the 2020/21 season. Even if they are, they will not accept it if they think he is free to leave.

Despite this they are working on getting Bartomeu to negotiate an exit where they don't have to try to argue their case to use that clause in a court of law. This is by negotiating an amicable exit where Barca receive some form of compensation from Man City. Whether that is 100m, 50m + Garcia + Angelino, or something else, that offer is on the table.

I know it's tough to understand for some of you beehive minds, but that's the reality of the situation right now.
