Nah, in the immediate post-Messi future, we wouldn't be top 4 in Europe at all, more like top 10. We might even struggle to get to top 4 in La Liga. But we have to start there and get better from there.

Coutinho cant play LW.

Particularly in team with Messi in it but agree that is only position that does not weaken Barca massively in their structure.

Cant play him RW or AM as too many other players games are impacted to cover for him.

Barcelona without Messi would be still a top team in Spain but there's no way they can actually win the league without him. Without Messi the first season for Barcelona would be like Real Madrid's first season without Ronaldo or even worse. The players here are not good enough in the attacking third to get consistent results for 38 matches.

The slow game suits him and his lack of effort off the ball impacts team structure.

CR7 runs only 9 km a game, actually.

Messi runs 7.

But CR7 does use those extra 2 km very, very well in and around the box.
