Which top club is going to want to spend 200m on 33 year old with 1 year left on his contract and with wages upward of 50m/yr? He doesn't run, have a position or defend either. Pep, nor Klopp would touch this current version of Messi with a ten foot pole as would no other self-respecting club. Maybe PSG would make him an absurd offer to join a free if they hadn't signed Neymar.

From brand point of view it makes sense though. Shirts sales, new fans to support the club, new players willing to join etc ..
