This 'popular' idea that we can't replace the amigos if Messi is around.
Argentina was able to replace the useless amigos and Messi is still there in a functional team, why can't Barca do the same?

You sounded like you almost wish for the club's demise after Messi is gone. Messi fan or a Barca fan are you?

Messi doesn't pick the team, nor does he force the coach to play Suarez (who was shit today), thats all bullshit.
Its off course possible that the coach is intimidated by all the big names and ego's in the dressing room but then thats really on the coach.

People who allow no criticism of Messi do not get the point.
It is not being ungrateful or analyzing this single game performance where he have been solid for an hour against a tough opponent.
It is about his general play combined with his power behind the scenes. His performances are not outstanding by any means but he wants to dictate every single aspect of our offensive game which hinders the whole team. Especially he does not score from a regular action in open play anymore. He simply does not, fact. Not a single regular striker type goal where he finishes in the box after positioning himself close to goal with a run.
His power in the club makes the manager obsolete because he puts himself above the manager and decides how he plays and influences who plays besides him. Add this toxic shit to incompetent Bartomeu and you have the perfect shit storm we are looking at right now.
We are not at the bottom because he have been so far up top for many years but it is going downhill fast right now.

We will be mediocre for a while? Probably not for a while in reality. We have been mediocre for many many years and teams don't just rebuild out of thin air. I really don't get that kind of questioning though. Why would anyone explain what kind of fan they are? What would that prove?

Yes. In the end Messi is our best weapon in offense, especially now that Suarez is past his good date.

I don't think anybody has suggested that. He gave us so much, yes. We are talking about how to revitalize this team and get us out of the rut we have been in for a great while and more importantly, how to build for the future.

I've said many times i'm not a real fan of any club though i always had sympathy for barca (from the early 90s), just like i have sympathy for Anderlecht, Antwerp and a couple of other teams.
I'm a fan of great players like Messi (and to a much lesser extent De Bruyne, Pirlo when he played).
Can't stand the entitlement of some 'fans' here.

I would argue most fans her are humble with what we've seen from this highly acclaimed barca team in the past four seasons. With the players we have, you would expect most fans to set the city on fire if we don't win the CL every year. Barcelona is a top European club, not a Sevilla level/Villareal level club. The fans should expect success.

We have been bad, but not mediocre primarily because of Messi (and some of his fellow old guards) and we sure will be worse immediately after he is gone, no question about it. We know that for sure, the question is how do we react? Right we can't rebuild out of thin air but if Messi and the senior players are gone we will be building a new team instead of a team built around Messi. Messi being here for a few more years might slow down our fall from grace but it will also slow down our rebuild as new players will be bought with a mindset to become Messi's helper to get more out of Messi and that's just plain unwise if you are planning for the future.
The reason why I questioned him was because I can never see a club fan almost wishing the club to be bad just because a certain player is not there anymore. It makes no sense to me.
