This is very unlikely to be truly.. it would be a horrible investment from the team who would accept such a loan deal. 30M sunk cost is crazy

Bad deal for the buyer. U essentially loan a player for a huge sum and when he plays good he returns to Barcelona and when he plays bad , u were robbed 30Million

I'm just guessing but could it be Leicester? With that crazy money they'll get for Maguire they could afford that (not that most if not all EPL clubs can't; how smart this would be is a different question though) and Brendan Rodgers there as a manager? I think he would prefer to go to a CL team but maybe BR can convince him.

Agree unless the buyer wants to win something special (the league or the champions), they value this achievement more than 30M, and Coutinho plays an important role in this glory .. very unlikely situation tbh
As for us it would be an amazing deal. The other team would have huge pressure to maximize their return on investment and get the best out of Coutinho, which increases our chances of selling him for a good price next year when he is still 28yrs old. Even if we sell him then for 70M, that is a total of 100M .. take the loss and move on

We could include a buy option to make the deal more appealing for them. I would probably take a 20M loan fee with around 80M buy option. Of course it's risky and we could lose out on some money if he would have a great season on loan or on the other hand get him back if he'll suck but at least this way we could potentially get around 100M on him. I doubt any club is prepared to straight out pay that sum right now.
Obviously that unknown club would also have to pay his full wages next year and this would be a bigger problem for most clubs than just paying a high loan fee.
This is a win win deal tbh, absolutely great idea. Risk mitigation to the other team, and it enable us to sell him for 70M or so next year
All deals for expensive young players like Dembele and Felix should be structured like this .. 20% of the fee as a loan and 80% next year as a buyout option
Imagine Atletico paying 35M this year to test Felix and pay another 100M next year to buy him .. win win. Atletico will be pressured to play him in order to be able to make a decision and milk the 35M in case they are not going to buy him .. and in case he doesn’t impress Benfica can loan him to another club using the same mechanics and that is a good 50M in Benficas account without even selling him

First, this could very easy be a BS rumour leaked by the club or Coutinho's agent.
Second, we are talking about a hefty loan fee (20-30M) and not a free loan in this case. How would this be a bad deal for us or Coutinho? IF no club is willing to pay around 100M (which is 99% the case) other options we have are:
1. sell him for 50-60M (there are probably some clubs willing to pay that much because he's still a good player "in his best years") and make a big loss which the club doesn't want to do.
2. keep him, not get anything and pay his wages.
If everything goes well with this loan we could potentially get rid off him permanently next summer for more than what we would get now but if he stays here and has another bad season his value will drop more and we'll have even bigger problems to sell him next year.
From the player's perspective Cou would also get a chance for a fresh start at his new club and show what he can do. I don't think he has lost hunger for football (like Arda for example) or forgot how to play so maybe a new environment is all he needs.
