Sergi Roberto for sure is better than him and despite people hating on Gomes he was great for Valencia and showed enough potential for several clubs to be ready to pay even 50M for him. Denis was a key player for both Sevilla and Villarreal and had a huge impact on the latters success during his time there. What has Ceballos done? Average season for Betis and people are now treating him as some kinda superstar based on a U-21 tournament lmao. There are several talented midfielders in his age class that are way better than him.

Apart from the first game he was quite average. A few moments of brilliance, but overall not great.
Spanish Team was carried by individual brilliance more than anything else.

As if we need another attacking midfielder. Were stacked in midfield with Iniesta, Rakitic, Gomes, Sergi Roberto, who are all better players than this guy. He's not even better than our bench players like Denis and Rafinha. Signing this guy would be a slap in the face to Alena and Samper who have worked hard for years to get their chance with the 1st team. We've already made the same mistake with Thiago, Grimaldo and several other players who turned out to be fantastic players, yet people are still bitter at them for leaving because they didnt want to waste their careers here warming the bench/playing 3rd division games.
Gomes isn't a good passer or a good dribbler. Rakitic isn't a good dribbler. Denis was in the same squad as Ceballos and got benched, that wouldn't make much sense if he was better. And Rafinha can't make it for an entire half season without suffering a major injury.
Players like Gomes and Arda are a slap in the face to the likes of Alena and Samper. Players like Cebellos are not.

That being said, it's worth the risk. He adds some things we lack, and does it in multiple areas. To get a passer-dribbler, that also plays with courage and takes no shit on he field is important. Suarez was known to be a tough cookie and we so far proved we can halde these players if the environment in the team is great.

Gomes is a good dribbler, not great but good. Rakitic may not be the greatest dribbler but he makes it up in lots of other areas. Denis barely got a chance to play in that tournament and its idiotic to compare those two based on a silly u-21 tournament. Rafinha has had lots of bad luck with injuries tbh, its not his fault some cunt makes near leg breaking tackles at him.
Samper and Alena are both in the same age class as Ceballos and there's plenty of other midfielders coming up in La masia who don't have the personality of a fascistic asshole.
