I said before we need a world class manager.

I am sick of the board and fans ranting about Barca DNA.

First step appoint work class manager.

Second step clear out dead wood.

At least six players need to go including Mats.

Third step sign players hungry for success.

I'll put this on our magnificent 433.
Come to Lucho's topic to continue.

433 managed to score 1 goal in 11 vs 11 in the last 5 years (except in magical 2015):
In the last 5 years (without a winning year 2015), 433 managed to score 1 goal in 8 matches of knockout rounds against physically tougher teams, even with Alves, Xavi and Iniesta:
2013: Bayern 0:3, 0:4
2014: Atletico 1:1, 0:1
2016: Atletico 2:1 (10men Atletico), 0:2
2017: Juventus 0:3, 0:0

Yes, we played 343 in the first match. But we didn't have Busi, we had Mathieu etc.
With 433 we will win like once in 10 attempts against teams like Juventus and Atletico in the future.

We are neutralized EXACTLY in the same way each single time in the last 5 years.
4-3-3 or 3-4-3

The front 3 and midfield 3 is the same players

Same players playing the same positions, the only difference is the back 3

The sad thing is that in terms of chances Barça had more today (and were about even in first leg).
But Juve got a tad lucky with conversion early in the first leg and played it home cool.

So congratulations to them.

Juve had chances too today

Everybody seems to be forgetting that

Juve were never really stretched today.

Also our players never really looked like they believed today.

It was more about playing for pride.

I don't mind losing this season as long as we start to rebuild our team this summer. I just hope RM won't win CL.

3-4-3 wouldn't change aything. Against strong teams you need to score from every possible chance and we missed all of them. We basically had 4 clear chances in 2 games (Messi 2x, Iniesta and Suarez). Problem is not in 3-4-3 or 4-3-3, problem is that we conceded 3 goals in the first leg and missed all we could in both games.

I agree it was an impossible task and Iniesta said it right after the first game. We have to congratulate Juve's amazing defenders. In the first game everything went their way, thanks to Luis Enrique's suicidal 3-4-3 formation.

Right now I just wish Pep had never left the club. He built this squad with Tito's help, what went wrong there back in 2012? Why the board didn't back Pep to stay? I can remember him being so depressed that he escaped from football to live in New York for a year. I bet it had something to do with the transfer of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal in the summer of 2011. I know the official version is Pep needed a break, grew tired of the team and so on, but if that was the case he would have totally retire from football like Johan Cruyff.

Dude, this is exactly what we don't want.

Pep left FIVE years ago. Get over it. We have to look to the future.

It's time to rebuild.

I am not saying that 343 is the answer.
But in this moment for our team, 343 is better than a horrible 433.

About our future, I am opened for anything: 442, 4222, 4231.
We will (imo) need something different.
This version of 433 is not working either in La liga nor in a CL anymore.
Remember that in 2016 we blew 10+ points advantage in spring and won a title luckily in the end.
433 managed to be 15 points behind Real in La liga over the last 12 Months, and in a CL we played extremely hot and cold, getting knocked out by AM and Juve with 0 goals scored in 300+ minutes in 11 vs 11.
Imagine having MSN and scoring 0 goals in 11 vs 11 in those 4 matches.
That's not easy.

1. we struggled even with Alves
2. we don't have a RB
3. LB Alba is like having a man down in attack
4. Busi is almost done
5. Iniesta is done
6. Rakitic is not our level
7. Messi is not on his prime anymore, plus he is drifting into middle all the time
8. Neymar can't score
9. opponents learned how to neutralize 433

Just way too many problems for a 433 to work.
So, for me personally, let's try 4-5 different formations during the summer.
433 didn't win 3 matches in a row in the last 12 Months, roughly. We slipped over and over once in 2 or 3 matches no matter against whom we played.

both 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 are horrible,

the only thing that was working in our favor was the motivation level of the team

Just not good enough in first legs. They really don't seem to get first legs at home very often. Bayern in 2015 and before that I think it was chelsea 2009. I remember before the draw hoping for a first leg at home and maybe going into the second with a lead.
