Claudio Bravo

If the 25M are true that Gerard Romero reports then we pretty much get double the amount we paid for him 2 years ago.

Yup. Good business by us for once. We didn't pay a lot for him, but got two elite years of of him and he'll likely have 2-3 great seasons left before declining (doubt he is Bufffon or van der Sar). Considering we have ter Stegen, it's a no brainer.

Solid deal (if true) for both parties. Thank god we keep the right one. Would have been crazy to keep Bravo and sell our German beast.

When both were bought Ter-Stegen was always the intended long term option and Bravo was the experienced back up to reduce any uncertainty if Ter-Stegen was "shakey". Bravo was intended to be here for at least 3 years. It just means Bravo will be sold earlier than intended....I'm still not sold that Ter-Stegen is the undisputed #1 and would have liked to keep both..but an opportunity presents itself to sell Bravo at a decent price....I'm just wondering why Pep had to raid Barca????....aren't there other keepers he can go for???...i mean Bravo is 34....he wont be a long term solution....why couldnt he go for Diego Alves or someone younger???

i have never seen anything like that before .. a big club all of a sudden sell its starter keeper lol usually it's because of a very old age "and,or" performances , neither is the case here .. the club is straight gambling on Mats

There is no "gambling". The German has proven himself in the CL, Copa and a select league matches. You imply that he hasn't by saying it's a gamble, which tells me you either have an agenda against the German or simply don't watch the matches. Could be both. Sure, Bravo is a little better than MAtS at shot stopping, though MAtS is better at distribution. MAtS is also so much younger and has potential to grow even more. If given more playing time! No way is it a gamble (unless you argument refers to MAtS maybe being injury prove) given his quality (and the small margin in quality between the two keepers).

and don't forget that Messi and Mascherano - who are so important to Barça's success - will always think about two lost Copa America finals whenever they look at Claudio Bravo.
Bravo did a good job for 2 years (except for the recent Clasico) but we will survive without him.

That's literally what Chelsea did with Cech.

And there's no guarantee Bravo was going to be the starter this season. In fact, Bravo's entourage only said he'd leave if it turned out he wasn't going to be the undisputed #1.

Tough news for Barça, I think it's a big mistake. But well, we'll see if MATS is up to the challenge as many in here have said he is. We'll see if he performs as a keeper and not only as a libero.

Many couldnt have been more wrong when they opposed his signing. He was called old, expensive and not Barça material on this thread. He was brilliant at Barça and the club is selling him at a profit 2 years later - probably the most expensive keeper transfer of his age in history.

I wish him great success at City with Pep hopefully he wont perform against us in CL

Fuck this shit. Now if we lose the league to Real Madrid this season, I will entirely put the whole blame on MATS. He is fucking overrated..

Yes that makes sense. he's so overrated that's why Klopp and Pep wanted him all summer? How many teams were after Bravo before City became desperate?
