At this point it probably would be smarter to play 3-5-2 if Alba is injured, like we did against PSG, with Bartra or Vermealen as one of 3 CBs than Mathieu as LB. And if Vermaelan is healthy he should play ahead of Mathieu, no question about it.

That he did and I find it kinda strange that people find Mathieu (backup man) main culprit for few recent performances when 200 million attack Suarez-Neymar have been failing us way more.

Mathieu has been bad but things need to be put in perspective. You can only hope for so much from likes of Mathieu but superstars of famous MSN are expected to deliver more than they did.

But you can't deny that they're underperforming. Against Celta and Sevilla, if we had finished our chances better, it would've overshadowed our pathetic defense, a bit like the Super Cup. However, the fact remains that we were poor in all areas of the pitch.

I am not saying that we are great in attack,but defense is much much worse and clearly we would be at the top with a sane defense.

Another point Robert our sporting Director,Talked about Adriano's contract a few days ago and commented on how good Roberto has been they're in No Hurry for Adriano to sign the deal. Sounds like to them Roberto is doing so well their's no point in Forcing Adriano to sign a new deal.

Its their own fault, dont play him as lb then. Matthieu is fine as a cb back up in 80% of our matches. Otherwise it should always be Mascherano/Pique/Vermaelen in important games.
Since we have Bartra as well im fine with Matthieu leaving in the summer if we get a proper lb back up for Alba. Adriano can leave as well, same Douglas obviously.
