I get the feeling Ancelotti had to play the white elephant, regardless of form. There's no way a sane Carlo would keep on playing someone who's been stinking the place out for an entire season. Bale had 3 goals in his last 20 games; which for forward who does no defensive work, in a club replete of quality players that create a lot like Real, is atrocious. Yet, match after match, there he was. While other quality players who were producing kept getting benched. Perez didn't get to call the shots in their last league game though, as Carlo knew he was already fired, he finally fielded a cohesive team, with the absence of the kick-and-run merchant of course.

Fun fact : 3rd year in a row that RM leads La Liga in terms of scoring the most direct free kicks in a season. RM scored 4 free kicks this term, 2 by CR7, 1 by James and Bale. Barcelona had 3 free kicks scored.

Its no wonder we are leading, since Ronaldo takes free kicks all day long, even though he is terrible at it, its bound to go in with so many attempts once in a while. If Ronaldo didnt take them we would be leading even more.

Zlatko Junuzovic alone has like 6 freekick goals in the Bundesliga, Calhanoglu has quite a few as well... and don´t tell me the goalkeepers in La Liga are better, because they sure aren´t.

Just like I said, La liga free kick takers suck. If James/Bale took more free kicks for RM and Suarez/Neymar for Barca I'm sure it would be a different story.

Not to mention that it would be a terrible move. It would upset our whole team, not just Ronaldo. And it would never happen , Perez prefers to buy young players, when was the last time that we bought a player over 30 years old?
