CL semis: Bayern - Barca 3-2 (3-5 agg.)

Because of that "Real are not in top form attitude", we will lose in finals. You are wrong in thinking that this "crippled" RM isn't able to take us down. Also, there are about 20 days till the finals...enough time for RM to "regroup" and win their 11th CL trophy.

Exactly. Not sure where folks got their confidence over Real Madrid. They dominated the first half in the 2nd leg of el Clasico. Their last game, despite the loss, they played well against Valencia but were unlucky a few times.

If we play Real Madrid like we did against Bayern today, we are fucked and we will lose the final.

Bayern is world-class and nothing less. People who expected us to embarrass them in their own stadium should consider leaving this sport for good.

We didn't play well but Bayern were phenomenal today. We took our chances and killed the tie and now we're in the final. There is absolutely no reason not to be happy right now.

Respect to Bayern and especially their fans. Wonderful support throughout the whole match and a great performance.

I have to say I was annoyed by the fact that when we had the ball, especially when Messi had the ball, Bayern fans were whistling and booing us. Not nice. Didn't even remember this happening at the Clasico.

I don't understand why people are over-analyzing this game. That was two teams that came into the game with totally different gameplans. Barca had a substantial lead and knew they needed 1 away goal to kill the game. Bayern however, had nothing left to lose but to go out and leave it all on the field.
Both teams played very much according to their gameplan and the results showed.

If you think Barca would have approached the game the same way had they needed a victory, you're very much mistaken. It's no disrespect towards Bayern to say Barca lowered their intensity in the 2nd half, because that's what happened. It also doesn't take away from Bayern's good game to say that Barca came into this game knowing they didn't need to win but to get an away goal.

This might be the one thing I can criticize about this wonderful era for our club: when we are clearly superior, we don't go for demolition. Except for the 2 clasicos (2-6 and 5-0) sometimes it feels like we feel bad for trashing other teams. I'm not asking for our team to run all 90 minutes in a close to decided game, but a well managed game would have ended up with us winning confortably in the AA, perhaps with a wide margin. I know winning titles is first and foremost but memorable performances like the one we had the potential to achieve in the Allianz could make victory even sweeter. This team is more than capable of producing such magical nights, hope they are saving it for the final

Yes, very sad. It's OK, I will watch replays of that 6-1 demolition of Porto to console myself.

You are not a Barca fan, you are just a Messi/Ronaldo fan, what do you care? You must be sad that Messi didn't do much at all tonight.

Just messing with you, footy, I agree with your assessment of the game, especially the second half. :p

It was all part of Lucho's masterplan to keep Bayern deluded. :lucho2:

That was a troll statement because raki is messi_xavi_iniesta, who was a previous poster on this forum (from Porto). Was just pulling his leg.

First I have to say: I am extremely happy and elated that we are in the final. Congrats to our players, Luis Enrique, the coaching staff, our club and every Culé on this planet. :barcascarf:

That said, I really have this bitter taste in my mouth because of this game today, especially the second half. One of the worst performances of the season, and a disappointing loss, after all we have not had a loss in a while and when was the last time we conceded 3 goals? I know it is Allianz and it would be hard and I wasn't expecting us to avenge the 7-0 (fuck that by the way), but I had expected us to play better and not getting totally dominated by this Bayern side. Perhaps some of our players did put their feet off the gas pedal in the 2nd half, perhaps it was fatigue, perhaps it was us trying to save Guardiola's job :)lol:, saw some angry anti-Gurdiola Chinese Bayern fans claiming that), I saw our midfielders being overrun, forced dispossession and errors galore, and our defense being pounded on and we just couldnt get out of our own half, just way too much. We hardly had the ball in the 2nd half and when we did, we could hardly string together several passes without being dispossessed because of Bayern's zealous pressing and sheer men power in the midfield.

Some folks said we Culés should be gracious and grateful that we are in the final, yeah I am all of that. But many of us have higher standard for our beloved team and what we saw today, especially in the 2nd half, was not Barça quality, far from it. I hope this serves as a wakeup call and Luis Enrique and his team analyze the hell out of our performance and use it as a lesson. We are Barça, we are not invincible, but we play much better football than we did today.

I know, of course. You might become a Bayern fan if Messi or Ronaldo joins them one day. ;)

Again just pulling your legs.

As a Bayern fan why would you care if Barca win anything in Spain? I care little who wins the titles in Germany (or any other place) I only care insofar as they pose a threat to Barca in the CL.

As for the upcoming CL, Barca winning it would be the worst possible outcome for Bayern since Barca will reach Bayern at 5. Juventus will only make it 3. Real Madrid are too far ahead for any one of us, but still, the principle of supporting the weakest party makes the most sense going forward.

Umm, it's not really about caring about what Barca win in Spain. I don't want them to win the treble but I don't care really what trophies they do win otherwise, since Bayern are out of Europe now either way. Also, I don't want to see Real Madrid win the CL; I just really dislike them as do most Bayern fans. That's pretty much it.

Barca are a European competitor but Bayern and Barca aren't "rivals".

Barca are a European competitor but Bayern and Barca aren't rivals either.

Any rich club is a potential eliminator of Barcelona from the CL. Anything that undermines our wealthiest rivals is music to my ears. Historical rivalries are secondary here.

The Camp Nou booed the heck out of them in the first leg. Happens all the time in big games. It only has meaning when there is hate between clubs, which i don't think there is between us and bayern.
