I think poor form is meaningless in a game like this, City will surely step up for a home leg Champions League tie against Barca. Aguero in good form and Yaya coming back will better their team.

Any win will be a good one, 3 or 4-1 will be ridiculous in my opinion, only possible if we score early, and they go all out trying to score, which I don't think they will, even if they concede I can't see them going gung ho right away, they will believe they can get an away goal as well.

Valid points, I'd say I was more confident last season with this fixture (not sure, just not feeling it at the moment, even with how we've been playing, it's when we come up against "big teams" I get a little worried). Barça dominated Citeh. Pretty much every time City attempted a tackle they'd just mow down our players resulting in a foul, they didn't know what to do.

Ghosting is right and form does go out the window. City have more to prove with their horrendous performance in the CL but also because of last year vs Barça. I'm wondering if we'll be able to contain them & keep possession and how well will they defend? We need Suárez on top of his game and not try so hard as he has been doing a lot since his return (seems to try and force an assist, he needs to relax, did alright vs Levante and don't let the bicycle kick fool anyone into thinking "he's back").

I'd be happy with a win, 1 or 2-0 to Barça; anything more & I'll be bouncing.

I think I'm the opposite. I was not at all confident going into last seasons game. I thought that City had all the tools to murder us. The height, the power, the intensity. I thought it was going to be a disaster. Much more confident this time where I feel the complete opposite.

City suits us. They can't keep it as tight at the back as Atleti for example and they tend to make several horrendeous mistakes during the game (Kompany, Mangala, Demichelis- they're all extremely mistake prone). They'll be missing Toure greatly as well, honestly I don't see any positives from their view.

One of Manchester City's best players, Yaya Toure, will not be able to play in the first leg of the Champions Leage tie with Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Barça midfielder is serving a three match ban for lashing out against Roman Eremenko in City's group match with CSKA Moscow.

He has served two of those matches for that red card - against Bayern and Roma - and will serve the third against Barcelona on February 24.

Even if we concede, we're packing so much firepower right now I don't think it matters what City does or does not do. That was their undoing, because of the height & power we drew fouls (however intentional) off of it. City didn't appear to have the discipline and just thought they'd boss the game, some tackles were atrocious & the fans let the ref know it if he didn't already know. As well as the mighty midgets having the speed & agility to get around, City barely touched the ball it was hilarious.

What was worrying is that I thought we'd turn them over at the Camp Nou but instead they put up a fight. Almost like they were learning & adapting. That is what has me a little concerned going into next week's game.

City is not in great form at the moment but we shouldn't forget that Pellegrini's job is one the line. He will put everything into this tie to save his job (I read that he'll be fired, if he doesn't advance to the quarter finals). Furthermore, their players will be motivated since they owe their fans a great performance at their own ground. It will be a difficult match no matter the circumstances especially because they have the players who are able to make this game very uncomfortable for us. I speak of Agüero, Silva, Navas etc.

Remember when PSG had a bad run? We were very confident because we didn't concede a single goal before this game. Blanc's job was on the line there too IIRC (Bertus could help here) and they schooled us in almost every single aspect. Of course we didn't have Suarez back then and we probably didn't have as much confidence as now but this game still shows that we have to be cautious.

Also it's funny how football changes, I was looking back at late December early Jan posts and a lot of them were saying they were confident and City could destroy us. Now our form seems to have scared most of them, a few saying anything better than getting smashed is good.
