And we did start it, clubs have been giving it for CWC champions, EL champions too for sometime. We did start it and it is actually a good thing not a bad one. But RM has nothing to be blamed for and neither are classless in anyway

It is very rare that a team has secured the title until the last 2-3 match-days. You bow down and give the guard of honor to signify that you acknowledge that the opponent was better than you in a competition you were BOTH competing for almost a year. It makes only sense for a league (not possible in knock-out competitions) and it is strange and hyperbolic to assume guard of honor inter-competition-al-ly!!!!
Everything else is a silly excuse to masquerade an inferiority complex and a lack of respect to a true opponent, to refrain from admitting symbolically through the gesture that you were inferior in that competition on the pitch and your opponent deservedly wins that.

Winning the league is always more difficult. That's football ABC, unless you don't have the mental capacity to understand that.
City- Liverpool perfect example. Liverpool got through. City a better team by miles.
When you play versus everyone in a marathon you prove your worth every single week against all different levels of opponents.

Knock-out cups: different story completely. You can be lucky, you can find the right mentality, you can sit back and counter if you are inferior - something that can not get you to the top when in a marathon.
Of course, we have come to associate the CL with glory, prestige etc. But that's all a different dimension.
Look at all the really bad teams that have won this competition that in a league wouldn't have been in the top4 (Real 2016, Chelsea 2012, Liverpool 2005 etc etc) or the teams that would have probably contested hardly but lost the league in the end (Inter 2010, Milan 2007, Porto 2004, Milan 2003 etc etc)
It is the peculiarity of this competition that not always, and in fact rarely, the best team in Europe wins it!

Not that curious tbh. He's close to the 3rd CL in a row, and he only won 1 La Liga, and that after Barca screwed up royally vs Malaga. Zidane finds it harder to win La Liga than CL. Easier for him to motivate his team for the big, but few and in between, CL games, than for the whole duration of the season.

Not to discredit our own coach, but he persisted with Benzema, telling everyone we didnt need a new striker after we sold Benzema. Thats a big reason why we werent even competitive in the league, you cant only have one single goalscorer and win the treble. Add to the fact that our defense, who at times can grind out results against quality teams in the CL, couldnt be bothered to give it their best against random mid-sides strikers in la liga.

True. Ronaldo was in bad form in the first half of the season. That's how you lost the league. Benzema and Ronaldo not scoring enough. Now it's different though, you are in hot form atm. Still defensively suspect mind you, but going forward, no doubt the best team.
