Not many players boss an Euro tournament like Xavi and Iniesta did in 2008 pre Pep.

I'd say the only 2-3 midfielders that compare in quality to even pre-Pep Xavi and Iniesta since then are Modric, De Bruyne, and probably Kroos.

Iniesta was the heavy lifter, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2015, you name it. UCL final vs Arsenal, Chelsea, WC final, UCL final vs Juve. To name a few.
Iniesta was a guy who had talent more than anyone except Messi, that is including Zidane too. Stats wise many would argue he was not so special, dribbling wise and inteligence wise, as an old Barca fan, he is the best advanced midfilder since Maradona. He lacked the body strenght of Messi to be in the discussion with Messi and Maradona. As Neymar lacked the body strenght of Ronaldinho. Maybe the body mass and cm for shots and executions like Zidane. But compared to Zidane he was swift, agressive in play, always searching to cut the lines. Zidane was slower, less of a dribller, but had the body mass to compensate.
My honest opinion.

Yep 2m passes and holding the ball vs spliting lines in half playing 4 positions.
You don't get it, Iniesta can do whatever Xavi did, but Xavi could only dream to play Inside forward cuz he was average as talent. Iniesta was in the realm of Messi and Maradona.
Silva was good but playing in the peasant league made him look better for people that consider those rudimentary peasants a good league. Xavi was replaced by Rakitic Iniesta by no one till this day.
Pedri is a holding midfielder you are trowing hype at me like Xavi. That's why he is broken because Xavi in his average brain thinks that guy or Gavi are Iniesta.
