Other than that Spurs-Juve game at WHL some 5 years ago, yea he's pretty good IMO

But refs similar or better, from Lahoz to Orsato, have had stinkers at this tournament.

You should know. He reffed the 4-0 from which you came back in 2017
But nothing other than group games beyond that with PSG

Recent biggest decent performance was the ET of RM-Chelsea last season
That and maybe Barca-Inter 3-3 if you count that as big

Pretty sure he also yelled at De Paul when Argies played Australia, which I found quite funny considering how he folded when someone told him to cut the moaning

Back in real world and away from BBZ irrelevant theories...

Mbappe 5/1 for Golden Ball is good odds.

If he does anything in final and France win it he will get it.

Even if he does nothing and win he has a fair shout assuming Messi doesnt score/assist.
More often than not losing players get those awards.

Remembering how heart-broken Messi was in 2014 receiving the award on the losing end... I'd rather have Mbappe pick it in case France win.

FIFA president not happy Messi has a stronger opponent in the final?

Those Ronaldo boys are getting more and more ridiculous with each hour, not day.

The only people reacting are Macron himself and I believe it's his wife in the background. Infantino is poker face, of course. Imagine him starting a dance with Macron. Next day he is back in the media rooms of UEFA picking hot/cold balls in Conference League draws.

Thats why France will win. They dont depend on one player like Argentina do.

Yes they do. They wouldn't be where they are without Mbappe. They wouldn't be current WC champions and also not in Sunday's final.

Even if he doesn't have the same numbers as Messi, he is the guy that draws the defenders, opens up space and is clinical when it matters. His supporting cast is good, better than what Messi has in attack(mainly because Argies lack good wingers?).

But you don't win a WC with Giroud, Griezmann and Dembele. You can win one by having Coman or other winger instead of Mbappe and Benzema(another difference maker) instead of Giroud + Griezmann + Dembele.

So even if France looks like this complete team that has threats from all over the park, they wouldn't get it over the line without a Mbappe or a Benzema.

And if we are talking about conspiracies and corruptcy, France has "more points" to be favored by FIFA and the refs in the final.

From FIFA's point of view:
1. France has a bigger population than Argentina
2. France is way richer and way more people will buy shirts, sports shirts and shoes
3. they have Mbappe, the future Ballon D Or and GOAT contender
4. Mbappe is the most popular footballer in Africa

1. Argies only have Messi, and FIFA might get a beautiful story if he wins and we'll watch movies about him for the next 50 years like with Pele and Maradona
2. also, Messi is more famous shirts wise in Asia, imo

Regarding Qatar:
1. Psg is in Paris, that is their European home
2. Platini (French) did everything (criminal activities) to give a WC to Qatar. Qataris will need to repay for that
3. rumors say that French politicians were also involved in winning a WC
4. Mbappe is Qatar's/Psg's player. Basically the owner of Psg. Imagine screwing Mbappe with a soft pen in a final (for Argies) and then expecting him to stay at Psg for the next 5 years. No way

Argie's pros:
1. Messi plays for Psg/Qatar and he was surely also promised some bonuses

All in all, French connection and importance is stronger both in FIFA's and Qatar's eyes.
That means that Argies are an underdog in this match, regarding refs.
1. soft pens won't be awarded for Argies at 0:0
2. soft pens might be awarded for French at 0:0
3. Argies can win this match ONLY if they'll score 2-3 regular goals which can't be denied by weird VAR/ref's decision and if they can keep 2:0 or 3:0 even if the refs will help to France later in the match

Welcome to top-level football-business&interests. Enjoy the final :p

Come on, it's been days since your contry lost, you can't believe that.

Argentina plays the final because they play a very good style for cups and NTs in general. Defend compact with aggression, hit on counters and don't miss your chances.

Croatia and Morocco somehow got baited into playing the attacking card and got hit badly on counters.

France star Theo Hernandez insists ?Lionel Messi doesn?t scare us? ahead of World Cup final - https://www.sportbible.com/football...a-theo-hernandez-lionel-messi-872493-20221215
He is a left back, on Messi's attack position. Let's hope he just jinxed his Sunday's game.

Also, we didn't saw a Messi free kick goal. Would be nice...yea let me dream about it

France is clearly better on paper, but Argentines will play with more heart... Let's see. Expecting less and getting surprised on Sunday? Sounds like a plan.

By the way Messi and Scaloni have reacted after each KO match I would say they're really focused and don't take anything for granted.
