Unai Emery

El Gato

Villarato!
Man...
He has improved his team leaps and bounds since that squad 3 years ago which was a relegation candidate for a time.
To the extent no big boys really want to face them because of how effective the counter press tends to be.

I haven't seen either of the games and by sounds of it German arrogance played part (Parejo said he heard Nagelsmann chat shit after the draw), but it's clear the team is talented enough to play well in a two legged tie.
Likes of Parejo, Albiol, Asenjo (even if he doesnt play much this season), Alcacer, Capoue must of been hungry to play major role in this kind of success for ages since been denied it the whole decade

Is it a certain he will leave Villarreal in the summer? Would love him to stay.

Contract is until 2023, also can't see which team would take him considering his Arsenal and PSG record.

The worst thing for Villarreal is that their team might get picked apart this summer, like Ajax in 2019.
But at the same time with World Cup played at such a weird time, maybe the stars will want to stay where they are comfortable and guaranteed playing time at least until WC.
If club can convince players to have a go at the league next year can see most staying, including Emery.

Unai is easily superior to EV.

Beaten Juve and Bayern in CL with much inferior squad (in the case of Bayern).

4 x Europa league champion, including 3 peat (beat Pool, Juve, United and the likes while doing it).

EV is unemployed without a Messi who scored 100 goals in 2 seasons and a declined but still effective in LL Suarez.

Stop this.

EV has also beaten Juve (2017 group stage), never lost to Real, beaten Chelsea, destroyed Atletico, 2 LL (one ll nearly unbeaten), ofc he has also beaten manu two times

Unai is on a good way to get on EV level though

Unai is a better manager(better CV) than EV but EV is more suited to a big club.

Unai overperforms with underdogs and is predominantly a cup manager.

EV is the better league manager by far.

Unai seems pretty weak in consistently getting his teams to perform in league games.

True, which makes it difficult to place them, EV is a better league coach while Emery is better in cups.

If Emery does the unthinkable and knocks out Liverpool, or even a narrow defeat, i think he has the edge though.

 Emery would easily win the title in Spain with a top Barca. Emery is basically Valverde + better mentality and leadership.
