Yeah, the idea would be to sell him at the end of the season.
He will probably have a better chance to recover his old form somewhere other than at Barça.
Loan him, then loan him again until he had year left on his contract and then he is gone for free.
Or loan him with 6 mil. buy option. Do the bizo Barca way.
Or.. sell for a discount fee because he was a good boy like Villa. He can then injure himself when he scores against us in gratitude. Do the Villa way.

If we plan on using him in midfield (which we should, if he stays), we must sell both Rakitic and Vidal. Otherwise there's gonna be too many players and EV will just push him to LW again. To be fair, he'll probably do that regardless, which is just pointless at this point, since we clearly saw he can't play LW. As for Rakitic and Vidal, they both need to be gone by next summer anyway. so we might as well hurry and do it one year earlier for the sake of giving Coutinho a one season try in midfield, and if we doesn't perform again, just cut the losses with him next summer and sell him too.

After all, he is not the worst squadplayer on earth to have on the bench 
His quality-level alone makes sure that he will contribute to the team one way or another. Stranger things has happened than that he regains his level in our midfield.
The issue is mostly financial - his former fee and current wages are simply too high to keep him in the long run.
Lets hope United are desperate on deadline day and splashes 100M for him though

No we need Vidal or Rakitic along with Coutinho to cover for ACM. De Jong, Arther and Busi are DCMs or sort of hybrid box to box/DCM without much attacking orienation. And sorry Alena or Puig are not ready for big matches even off the bench.

Assuming Coutinho stays, could a midfield of FDJ - Arthur - Coutinho be utilized?
FDJ could cover the DM position and has good vision and attacking attributes too.
Arthur is good in keeping possession and distributing the ball as well as covering space when defending. He is not so good at the final third, but Coutinho there
would be lethal.
Is this too attacking and vulnerable at defense, a.k.a unbalanced?
