We already have Gomes for that and Mascherano can play in the midfield too.

With the way the rumors have been so far, I'll believe it when I see him posing with the shirt. Last month, Lucas Lima was presented by the press as 'done deal'. Is he our player right now?

Gomes is not very good but he is a much better player than the Chinese league player.
Also if they think he is better than Gomes they should sell Gomes then but i don't think they will, because they are both Roberts signings and he somehow seems to be a powerful member of the board able to buy or sell whoever he wants.
