Agree. Even with Messi's current stats he is still the best freekick taker. I am okay with Coutinho taking them from left.

The problem is Messi taking them from positions a right footed player would have an advantage, FKs he rarely if ever scores from since it becomes so predictable which say he's going to shoot it being left footed. Coutinho is a great FK taker so I hope he gets the chance when it's on the left.
Shouldn't become a Messi-Suarez buddy club where they keep taking FKs when someone else is either better or simply better suited to take it in a certain position.

Messi should also shoot the freekicks from left side, he is able to make a free kick goal from every position, for example against Real Sociedad. He hit the wood or post 5-6 times this season, if they went in, this discussion would not be startet.

Still think it understates his quality. A few of Messi's targets go wide. He has hit the posts a lot of times or keeper stopped it.
Maybe conversion rate is lower because he also takes them from left side. Like I said, wouldn't mind letting Coutinho take those.
But Messi should still always be first choice to shoot with left.
