Nasser has the great idea of getting Cristiano next year if Mbappe leaves. The attack of Messi, Neymar and Cristiano would be awesome... If it was 2014. PSG wont win the CL with this team, if Mbappe leaves then twice as unlikely.

The biggest question here is.. with Cristiano's ego, will he accept it? He'll basically compete with 2 players for that spotlight he always craves.

PSG sold 832,000 official replica shirts within 24 hours of Lionel Messi joining the club, with sales worth roughly ?133million. That?s two new records for Messi; most shirts sold in 24 hours, and highest revenue from club merchandise in 24 hours.

The shirt covering the fee is a big myth. The money goes to the shirt makers that's why they pay a lot of money to sponsor. Maybe for the local store the club has a tiny percentage of sales.. But that would be very very small

Yeah, Nike is pocketing the bulk of the money, PSG will only get a small percentage of those jerseys sold.

Nike's current deal with PSG runs through 2032 (at 80m a year), PSG won't be able to change the terms because of Messi staying there for two years.

According to ligue 1 only goalkeepers are allowed to wear jersey number 30

But they changed their rules,so that only Lionel Messi can wear it. Yes, he's bigger than the game 🐐❤

Meanwhile LaLiga can't even register him lol

Nobody said that the sale of shirts will cover the fee. They wont' make big money with shirts....
But these numbers show a small but impressive proportion of what the brand Messi is worth commercially.
"Club chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi claimed the world will be "shocked" in terms of numbers when it comes to having Messi in their ranks"
"?So they will be able to sign up more deals, and they?ll be able to invoke star-player clauses with existing deals"
Don't worry, PSG will make a lot of money with him.
Messi and CR brand's have an impressive commercial value, top of the top.

I am not worried about PSG at all, I don’t give a rat’s ass about that club.

No doubt Messi’s brand power is huge and PSG will be making a lot of money in the two years he is there, they already sold fan tokens at unprecedented price, I heard. Just saying, selling a lot of jerseys will benefit the club but not to the degree that some think.

For all the talk about how CR is a "drag" on Juventus finances, their revenues did increase by a decent margin when he signed.
That said, it wasn't enough to truly bring Juventus up there with the elites.

As for PSG, with FFP pretty much dead, how much Messi improves their revenues isn't that important, though i guess they value popularity all the same.

PSG's owners will probably have another Qatari company they own sponsor the club with a deal that's way above market value, but justify it with Messi's arrival.

not in the squad for tomorrow, likely he'll not even play next week. lewandowski gonna be ahead of him in double digit for the time he scores his first goal with PSG :mou:

He’s not had much of a pre season though, plus you don’t think they’ll wait for him to make his debut at the Parc de Princes, rather than away to Brest?

Edit: just realised their next two fixtures are away anyway so more than likely he makes his debut before they play at home again.

Juve paid 100M for CR (PSG paid 0:banghead: for Messi)
Without having play a single match, only because CR signed for Juve, the club raised the price of season tickets and tickets = 14 million more than the previous season, Adidas has more than doubled its sponsorship (from 23 to 51 million per year) while all those who want their name to appear behind the figure of Ronaldo signed new contracts leading to an increase from 28 to 44 million in a single season.
And for sure this is only a part of what he brings to juve.

Obviously he is not enough to take Juventus up there with the elites (as he's not enough to win the CL).
He was a step in this direction, he gave also more visibility (brought millions and millions of fans, followers Facebook, instagram,...)

And I agree about Messi, PSG did not bought Messi for the revenues, PSG with Messi changes status, takes the club to another level of popularity/visibility (without paying anything, for sure Messi generates enough money that he is not a cost to PSG). they value popularity all the same.
