Thing is for a team like Villarreal (and Sevilla) these days in LaLiga it is too much risk to spend big[er] to try and make the CL.
This isn't England where the Liverpools and Chelsea's can spend big, miss the CL and spend big again.
They risk a Betis situation.
Instead, sadly, it is better to spend modestly and aim to get into the CL through the Europa League.
