Would never get him to Barca.
They would want far too much money for him.
Doubt being a winger moving to Barca is all that appealing just now either.

Barca have put themselves in a market where they want proven players but cant afford to match top fees that the best will go for. While the desire for instant success is there to point wont rebuild and try and go looking for the bargains in the market too often as see is it too much as a gamble.
Bit fucking boring really as wont see top top players arriving and not many younger punts that could go on to be really.
Ach well.. another season of Busi et al as cant afford a DM and chance to spend was last summer.

Barca model is also outdated. Brighton are doing a marvelous job in not only scouting but also using their owned club in Belgium to get the players ready for Brighton.
They are doing a better job in getting their signed players ready than we are with Barca B.
Sure they got the EPL money behind them and the Premier League big boys to sell with, but we had the pieces to be ahead of these no mark clubs.

Barca B is a shit place for any top rated talent to develop because there is constant change there with coaches and other stuff. Not to forget the low quality of competition.
Someone like Balde was underwhelming for Barca B but shone with the first team. Araujo more of an outlier.
If we are going to sign top talent from South America where they are cheap to sign(apart from Brazil) the best thing to do is to let them stay with their clubs for 1-2 years or loan them out to a La Liga team.
Another issue is that we don't sign top talent from South America to begin with. Instead of spending 10m for one we keep taking punts of 4-5m on players that turn out to be shit. Although that's probably because we sign some of them based on advice from agents or agencies like our business with Traffic and Andre Cury in Brazil that saw us signing guys like Maia.

Barca wont do that.
They are not prepared to think that far ahead with money have to wait for players to develop.
They want to spend money now for their idea of what will bring instant success.. but not on top top players at a good age as they cost too much.
Almost in middle of the road of players can attract and how will get top players into squad... cant buy them.. and current approach means less likely to find and develop them.
Unless come through La Masia.
Barca have and advantage in rebuilding that top EPL teams dont.. they could drop to a fairly average level by their standards and still cruise top 4 and CL football.

It was a matter of time, now he is in great form productivity-wise. He can become one of the most productive wingers in the world imo, his decision making is spot-on and a decent finisher.
Barcelona should be so super smart, we should sign every player that cost a reasonable amount & is playing well for every single club across the entire universe.
Mean while we signed Araujo & Pedri for next to nothing, torre which the entire forum was clamoring for and promoted 2 youngsters to the first team.

Mitoma is hella good so far though, not to take anything away from him.

Yes the previous board did brilliantly to sign Pedri and Araujo.. already said.
Helps to soften blow of money they wasted.
