Dani Alves calls Barto a liar for his comments about Alves being offered a spot in Barca's team in January.

What a bunch of twats. It's amazing how incapable one can be and still do these kind of jobs. One can only think how things are in politics.

Says the Barcelona board is very concerned. The level of the team has deteriorated and they have NO clear idea on who to sign.

I mean, I get them. I don't have idea who to sign either(apart from Verratti). The problem is is that they spent shitload of money (with Luchos blessing) on complete frauds and now we have deadwood and not enough money to spend.

Some quotes (via twitter account BarcaNewsForum & Barcastuff_) from Bartomeu's interview with Cat Radio few days ago...

- "Verratti is a player we like. Robert [Fernandez] wants him to come, as do Ernesto Valverde and [general manager Pep] Segura."

- "We know that Marco Verratti wants to come to Barca."

- "The problem is that PSG have now told us they do not want to negotiate."

- "The fact there is no release clause is a problem because you cannot go there and sign a player."

- "Robert and Valverde are now thinking about other [options]."

- "As of today, it has been impossible [to sign Verratti], but the market is open until Aug. 31."

- "I cannot guarantee anything because it depends on the market and negotiations. As of today, though, PSG do not want to negotiate"

- "So for now, we've not sat down with PSG, despite the player's willingness to come to Barca. We must accept it."

- "We had it before with Cesc [Fabregas], when Arsenal did not want to hold talks with us for a year. We had to accept it."

- "Verratti has said that he wants to leave but PSG tell him he'll be able to go only when his contract ends."

- "Messi's contract renewal? "It started several months ago when I told his father, Jorge, that we had to sit down."

- "Everyone knows Leo had a bad summer last year with the tax problem he suffered."

- "We let some months pass and then I told Jorge that we had to start talking about the renewal, and he told me to talk to his son."

- "I talked to Leo and asked how he was, because of what had gone on."

- "I told Leo we had to talk about the future. He replied: 'I want to stay here. Talk to my dad.' And that's it."

- "Messi has not asked for any specific signings."

- Messi and his team-mates talk about players when they meet them, but the one here who watches players and Robert Fernandez."

- "Ronaldinho brought the smile and the magic, [Andres] Iniesta the balance and Leo the art and the genius."

- "Ronnie started this change but the one who changed the tone of Barca is Messi. This is the age of Messi."

- "With Leo, the concept that world has had of Barca has changed. Leo would be the mother of all Barca icons, shining on them all."

- "Ceballos? He is a Real Betis player and we don't talk about players of other clubs. We've an excellent relationship with Betis."

- "Many clubs want Neymar, but he is happy. We aren't considering selling him under any circumstances" #fcblive [cat radio]

- "We are not a selling club. As for Iniesta, he has always been here. We are speaking with him and hope he will renew." [cat radio]

- "(In the case of Rafinha), he is indispensable for Barcelona and he knows it"

- "Agusti Benedito's attempts to force a vote of no confidence? For the moment there is no motion so I won't speak about it."

- "I don't see reasons for the fanbase to be so upset as to bring about a vote of no confidence"

- "I would only step down if I was not managing things well, especially in footballing terms"

- "If Barcelona isn't able to enjoy success over the course of the seasons then I would go"

They're implying the same in MD.

Sack the entire sporting management and start again. Hire a sporting director and give him executive power to pull the trigger on a transfer.

This is ridiculous now.

A farce.

Makes zero sense.

How could they possibly not know who to sign? What are the numerous employees in the sporting department and multiple scouting networks doing from September to June?

It's said that they failed to pull the trigger on several players and planned only with Verratti and when other options as well as Ceballos were gone, they now have no clue what to do which is evident by how you go from Verratti to Paulinho who is a completely different type of player.

The least they can do is sign a RB, but it seems like they'll chase Bellerin until the end of the transfer window.

That would stop this transfer window from being a complete train wreck. Just sign a good RB. Is that too much to ask for?

I posted not to long ago there's a good chance they put to many eggs in the basket for Bellerin and Verratti and since it's becoming increasingly difficult we are looking lost.

I have no idea what's going on myself. you hear all these rumors about these Alternative options and how we will move onto other targets if both Bellerin and Verratti deals get complicated so we can give Valverde a full squad.

Here we are two days before Pre-season training starts and other than Deulofeu we haven't brought anyone else in. The links to guys like Semedo,Seri etc pretty much disappeared other than the occasional "Here's our alternative RB and CMs guys!" lists that is posted by MD/Sport every 7 days.

I think overall this could be a case of poor planning and absolute stubbornness. We really should have moved on for the Bellerin saga, But as you can see we are still chasing him despite Arsenal and Wenger clearly not wanting to sell him. It's if they think Bellerin is the only RB that's worthy of the RB spot here and no one else.

Still a ways to go before the Window closes, and I'm cautiously optimistic to see how Valverde gets the best out of the players and how to integrate youth players here but It's just been a frustrating window so far.

As much as want to see signings to come into team now would rather go with players have than buy shit for sake of being seen to be doing something.

If it has to be Vidal at RB and Roberto in midfield then so be it but should expect more than that.
