am I the only one who draws parallels between his style and Pedros?

both are clinical (neither probably ever missed a one-on-one)
both are comfortable using both feet
both have a great work-rate
both are big game players
both don't have facial hair

Not really...

They are completely different types of players.

First of all Chicharito is a pure striker, he can never ever play on the wings.
Chicharito doesn't even come close to Pedro in terms of work rate.
Chicharito is more clinical than Pedro, which is expected given their positions.
Chicharito has an excellent header, Pedro not really.
Pedro has decent long range shots, Chicharito rarely takes any.
Pedro relies a lot on link-up play, one twos with other players to penetrate, Chicharito is more of a poacher, waiting for the right moment to pounce on a through ball or a cross.

I'll give you the facial hair one though...

20 goals in the debut season.

Scored in the round of 16, quarter finals of the champions league. Shame he could have scored few in Semi finals too..

Javier Hernandez is like a young Michael Owen when he was in his prime.

Great Finsher, who plays the shoulder of the last defender and uses his pace to get in behind and makes great off the ball runs!

I don't think he would fit in at Barcelona playing on the wings with the link up play.

I admit he made me eat my words when I saw him on his knees praying to GOD in the center circle before kick off. I said out aloud " who does this kid think he is Ronaldinho? he ain't gonna score ***" and then he goes ands scores 36 seconds after kick-off.
