Ibrahim Afellay

He played as winger not midfielder in Barcelona, so he wasn't competing against Iniesta at all.

He played as a winger *because* of Iniesta/Xavi/Busquets. Though he has (or had?) pace enough to play as a winger, like Iniesta, he is more of a playmaker at his best in the middle.

Seems to have been in a fight with the Olympiakos coach. Olympiakos is to get rid of him this winter. Possibly sitting out his barca contract in the stands?

Michel (coach Olympiacos): "Afellay is a rebel, still a kid. If he doesn't change, he'll have problems here and at any other club." [ser]

Ibrahim Afellay (29), on loan at Olympiacos, hasn't showed up in training past two days. Club doesn't know where he is. (Via barcastuff)

Any more news? Really hope he is ok.

edit: apparently he's missing for family reasons.

I'd like to see Affellay play a few games for us when he comes back. I believe he'd be a different player under Lucho. Since we need midfielders we may as well see how he goes.

Comes back? His contract is ending.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
As an olympiakos fan I can say that afellay is an ex-footballer.
Disgusting attitude, let him rot in a small club somewhere, he's not meant for greater things.
