It's the right call if we in fact sign a top CDM as well. Christensen as backup DM is shaky at best. The kids are kids and mostly not good enough (Casado, Prim...) or a few years away (Bernal, but I don't see it either yet).

If he was half as good as them he might, but he's like 5% of the player Gundogan has ever been.

If we have to start Guido Rodriguez for a prolonged time we are screwed. He's like Argentina's 4th choice CDM at this rate.

Actually Romeu in Girona was better than Guido in Betis.

Which is more of a warning for Eric Garcia returning than anything. Botox Xavi plays simple dynamic football (Klopp) which seems to maximise the players talents.

Pellegrini is closer in the guise of how Barca play, with Guido being the superior player though still not Barca 11 quality. Though will probably have that new team bounce for 2/3 months before declining to his usual level.

Palacios and Varela for sure. Paredes not really a proper CDM, but I’d have him ahead as well.
