So tell me..... Would the winners of a Segunda have to play a qualification fixture to get promoted to the second division?

Yeah, but have two chance. the group winner play each other, losers then play again with the rest for final spot. RM last year didn't get promotion after winning their group IIRC

This team came along way if you compare last season alone. this season we are much better at creating chances and finishing them and overall style of play is much more pleasing on the eye than it was a season ago.

Cucu isn't going anywhere, let's be real here. The main reason any of our players leave is an inability to progress. Cucu is getting good time with the B team while still a Juvenil A player and will be promoted next season most likely, so it's impossible to imagine him going anywhere but the XI.

4 group winners seeking promotion..... and 4*3 = 12 teams playing for promotion also seeking the same.

So how is it distributed? 2 of the 4 group winners get promoted soon as they win their first match and the rest of the 14 teams play for one spot?

The four group winners have the opportunity to promote directly and become the overall Segunda División B champion. The four group winners will be drawn into a two-legged series where the two winners will be promoted to the Segunda División and will enter into the final for the Segunda División B champion. The two losing semifinalists will enter the playoff round for the last two promotion spots.
The four group runners-up will be drawn against one of the three fourth-placed teams outside their group while the four third-placed teams will be drawn against each other in a two-legged series. The six winners will advance with the two losing semifinalists to determine the four teams that will enter the last two-legged series for the last two promotion spots.

Sounds needlessly complex.

Guys who are watching Barca B more often, a question:
What can you tell about a coach Gerard Lopez, his style of play? Do players respect him, follow his ideas etc?

I personally liked him as a player and even though he didn't make it here at Barca (but he did stay for 5 seasons), he always seemed as a smart player (midfielder) who understands everything (even though he didn't make it here).

He will be an interesting option as a coach in the future (a former Barca player, Barca's DNA, La Masia's coach, somewhat successful La Masia's coach for now).
In a few years from now, we'll surely come back and pick one day among Xavi, Cocu, Van Bronckhorst, Gerard etc.

Style of play: last season, his team failed to keep the ball a lot, which was extremely disappointing given the level of the league. Now, Barça B tend to dominate games in possession and chances which is a good sign. The way his team play is what you'd expect from any Barça team. One interesting thing is that he likes playing Ferran at DM from time to time, something we're not used to see post Pep, as Ferran is pretty small. His midfield is more of what you'd expect from Barça too, compared to Lucho, being more central.

Player's respect: from what I know, they like him. There was an incident where he invited the golfer Garcia, his friend, to train with them, which left many players wondering, but Gerard seems like a likable character all in all. He also gets help from long-time youth coach Garcia Pimienta who has coached all La Masia players on the team before, so that helps.

I'm surprised to hear there could be match fixing but looking at highlights of that game, it's a bit understandable.

I could have probably scored 12 on them.
