I think Barca have been better team domestically as have been often in the past but have been worse in CL.

Yeah they have been worse in CL as our players crumble if opponents start pressing us and can't play fast paced matches.

Because in CL teams play a lot faster.
There's a reason why we always win against Atletico in the league and they knocked out us twice in CL.

Your argument is that Atletico suddenly decide to play faster in the CL game v Barca but never think to do that domestically?
The reason Barca have a very good record in league but not in CL is levels have dropped in CL.

You can check stats like fouls per match to realize that there's a different level of intensity when teams play in CL
In CL usually teams commit 20 fouls per match while in clasicos or against Atletico in the league both don't commit more than 10 fouls per match when they play against us

Those foul stats dont prove anything even if correct.
By your logic Simeone has worked out how to beat Barca but only applies it in the CL.
Barcas levels have clearly dropped in the CL and against standard of sides beat domestically.

True this. It's a problem of ours in CL that we have to deal with. The physical, mental, and tactical aspects with which we approach the CL games are wrong. We approach this competition with what we have left after fighting for the domestic titles. We don't have too much left in the tank come april, and having average managers with no experience also doesn't help.
And La Liga is not Bundesliga or Ligue 1.

barca have been utter frauds in 4 of the last 5 seasons in CL save for a miracle year in 2015. In all 4 seasons, the team has come to this stage and looked totally unprepared for the pace and effort required to win, and lately even the personnel.
it's a systemic issue, like real's R of 16 hang up was in the 2000s even with galacticos. or united's recent run of 1 QF in last 7 years.

I think it is partly because of our recent coaches. All are average coaches with small club mentality or basic lack of tactical awareness. Last three CL exits the opponents followed the same strategy. Second reason is players simply underperformed in CL. They just played like it is Leganes at home in Knockout stages. Unacceptable. And other reason is our key players are overworked. Competing on all fronts with no depth in squad is taxing.
