Ernesto Valverde - V1

Lot of dislike against Valverde in this thread lately. I’m giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. However, if we lose to Atletico tomorrow, I could feel different.

Well we didn't lose .... Once again he was saved by a Messi wonder goal ...

Yet even though Coutinho can't play in the CL he started with Iniesta on left and Cout out if position again on the right .

What happens .... Iniesta tore a hamstring and will probably miss the Chelski game !!!!

Allegri will be the favorite to take over next season.

I'd rather have Xavi as manager with Iniesta his number two / playing less ...

No Dembele, not even his usual 10min cameo
takes Coutinho off for Paulinho when he wants to keep a 1-0 lead
Iniesta off and he brings on Gomes, conceding the midfield for an entire half to Atleti
Mourinho style shit football but we won right guys?

We'll drop out the CL against Chelsea, win the domestic double which will save Valverdes ass

Na , he's a dead man walking ...

You should all shut your whore mouths tbh. This season is about winning no matter how and learning how to defend. Can't go 2 straight seasons without big trophies and getting embarrassed with 0-4 and 0-3 scorelines away from home. Next season GOATVerde will integrate Coutinho and Dembélé into the squad during preseason and we'll play 10/11 football on steroids.

GOATVerde got this.

Valverde won't be managing Barca next year ... No way .

 we did not play “beautifully” against Bayern that season, we were a complete disaster and it should have been double digits over two legs. Inb4 MUH POSESHUN. That’s not what “tiki taka” is about. We haven’t had “tiki taka” since Pep left. Sure you can pull a couple of videos from every season where we might be doing something resembling it but tiki taka hasn’t really been a thing for us post-Pep.

Also, that video is from Tata’s season.

The only one rewriting history is you.

It's incredible you still try to pretend you have watched Barca during the Pep years. You came here in 2013 and were busted and permabanned for your weird act of copying and repeating other people's opinions in slightly different words without actually watching games yourself and generally being one of the worst posters ever seen on the Internet.

Umm... what?

Like... what the hell are you talking about? Are you high or something?

He will and all the problems will be swept under the rug because MUH LEEG REKORD

Doesn't matter if this awful Chelshit side knocks us out of the CL, doesn't matter if Bayern batters us again, all that matters is MUH LEEG REKORD

Very angry that Barca won and seemed to spoil your prediction.

As others said doubt you even watched it.

Villarato!
Except we've actually did it. We won the double.

You may have. Yet not many cared then given Madrid didn't have the chance to compete since their season only properly started in January. Doesn't really matter tho.

Oh, and you nearly bottled it then too didn't you? Lol. Totally forgot.

There's nothing to speculate about. Barring a really bad managerial choice, we'd be roughly where we are now under any competent manager because Madrid have shit the bed time and time again and they're out of any possible title fight.

We've might have been closer to Atletico, but still first I reckon.

Again, speculation. Why would Madrid shit the bed time and time again in the same way if there was no pressure on them to keep the gap from widening? Barca's regularity and non-conformism with respect to other top teams was as much a part of their scoring problems as anything else. Teams would like to have you think their approach is independent from opponent's positions in the table, but subconsciously it's almost never true. All this talk to the media they did is a smokescreen, delusion and putting on a brave face that Zizou quite nicely instills himself (I actually like him lying to the media as much as he is, you can see he is infinitely more pissed off than he is willing to admit). You don't go out to play one week saying "okay lads, no pressure, but we gotta win this today, get our shit together" and then next week "okay fellas, it's getting embarrassing, but luckily we still got a bit of a cushion". If the gap wasn't as big they'd be less bothered about their enormous goal drought and would actually be more likely to roll some of them in. So many posts and ridiculous misses from Ronaldo and Benzema. Very unlikely you'd see that.

Only the most pessimistic Barca fans panicked after the Supercopa matches. Those are part of preseason.

Lol what? If you're trying to say Supercopa Clasico losses equate to a friendly then you're so so wrong here.

As for integrating the new signings, he's not done a terrific job so far, but hopefully he's getting there.

Why not? He's doing precisely what he needs to do with them.

This forum is full of entitled kids with no grip on reality, your posts read like guys who just escaped the mental asylum. Guys like Wolfe who were around before actually have well thought out opinions and more wisdom. They understand the long term and the bigger picture in football.

Yes, starting Gomes, Paulinho and Vidal over Dembele shows great long term thinking.

So does running Iniesta into the ground until he's injured for the games we actually need him in.

What the f@ck are you people talking about? Valverde did this, Valverde is responsible for that...

Fine then... He is also responsible for no goals from open play in the last 180+ minutes. Playing people out of position. Midfield being overrun by Eibar and Alaves.

And all this starting in February. Truth of the matter is he only had a great December and January... The rest has been average at best.
