Dele Alli

Absolutely no chance they could have swept the Terry incident under the rug. They chose to let him off with a small ban

What ban did Suarez get for the Evra incident when there was no proof of any racist language and just one persons word vs the other? Twelve games?

Compared to the England captain who got four games when could be seen making a racist comment.

What about Alan Shearer further back almost taking Neil Lennons head off with a kick not long before a tournament? No ban as said wouldnt play for England?

What about the way Rooney screams abuse at officials week in week out and no one does anything about it?

I think you're misremembering things. Suarez admitted the word he used and tried to argue that it wasn't racist. It was the Terry incident that had no evidence, which is why the police found him not guilty. The FA could have easily just used their ruling for themselves. Shearer hasn't even played professional football for a decade, and half the players in the league scream at the referee. It's ridiculous to think that the FA would risk alienating Vardy and Alli by giving them bans just because they wanted them fresh. The FA have gone out of their way this year to not give players a rest before the tournament, they want to keep the season mentality going so they won't be having normal holidays this year, they'll spend most of their time in a training camp.

The most overrated young player in world Football, absolute fraud. Can't dribble, can't pass, no vision, no touch. He scores a long ranger every 15 games and people think he's amazing. Bad attitude, too. Fraud fraud fraud fraud fraud.

You've got an enormous chip on your shoulder. Again, you're talking absolute nonsense.

I've genuinely watched him live maybe 20-25 times, and I've only ever seen him have ONE half decent game (vs Germany) - this is for England and Spurs, by the way.

All he's good at is shooting. He gave the ball away 84 times at this tournament, more than any other player at Euro 2016. 84 times. In less than 3 and a half games. 84 times in approximately 300 minutes. He lost the ball every 3 and a half minutes. And people think he has the potential to be world class. God help English Football.

Relax, he's only 20. I feel like young players nowadays are judged more harshly or are under more scrutiny when compared to even 10 years ago.

Ross Barkley always gets blame for giving the ball away and always has over a 90% pass completion record. Funny that. It's interesting to see how some players are viewed differently by the media. Maybe now the honeymoon will be over with Alli and Barkley will no longer be the scapegoat of failed English expectations.

It's a bit scandalous Barkley never got a minute with Alli and Rooney playing so badly in this tournament and the likes of Wilshere who was half fit and hungover playing instead of him.

I'm only so critical because he's been hyped to ridiculous levels, and because Hodgson persisted with him in every game despite his lack of... anything, really. One of the only players to escape criticism from pundits, too. I think the reason he is so hyped is because of his age, but Rooney, Wilshere and even Sterling, 3 of the players who have been most criticised this tournament, were all better than him at that age. Never mind Rashford, 2 years his junior and a far more exciting prospect.

I've got to be honest, I just don't get the Alli hype, at all. I just don't know what he brings.

He was a 19 year old kid who forced his way into the Spurs first team scoring 10 goals in a title run. Of course there'd be a bit of hype. There is an annoying boom and bust cycle of young talent hype in England though. People expect development to a be a straight line so the moment a breakout season isn't bettered players get discarded as scrubs who haven't fulfilled their potential. Sterling has scored as many goals this season as he did last season and provided more assists, yet people are talking like he's gone off the rails. The same happened to Wilshere and Barkley too, and no doubt Rashford will be in for similar treatment.

I never understood people in england saying this squad was the best we have had in ages. A few years back we had Rooney (When he was class), Cole, Neville, Owen, Terry and the rest of the players you listed.

The current squad aren't even fit to lace the boots of that generation.

This is the problem with english fans. They hype up players so quickly and then send them to the firing squad just as quick when they (inevitably) hit the bad run of form. And I disagree with you with regards to that squad, that "golden generation" was pretty overrated relative to the hype they received. "golden generation" and yet they had nothing to show for.

Did you suffer amnesia? Find me another 19-year old scoring unbelievable goals like these in the top flight. I'm not saying he's going to be Michel Platini, I'm saying the boy is certainly not a fraud.
