Watched him a bit this season and going by what he has shown so far especially in terms of his technical ability, it's safe to say that even during his stint at Ajax people were correct in the idea that De Ligt, despite being three years younger at the time was the much better prospect.

He's young and has plenty of time to improve but on a technical level he just seems behind other players his age.

Always thought De Ligt was the better defender technically. Even at 17.
Don't get me wrong. Sanchez is a beast. And he has the potential to become one of the best defender.

But on the ball he's not the best. Still need a lot to learn.

If they would play together right now. De Ligt would outperform Sanchez in every way.

I watched the game only because of Sanchez and I have to say that De Ligt was the one who caught my eye. The guy is only 17 and he played a fucking masterclass in a final. Sanchez is a fast, powerful monster of a guy, but he is too aggressive and raw, with bad anticipation. I don`t want to judge him based only on this one game, but I think we should consider buying that 17 year old kid instead of him.
