Alves: "Vidal is a great player. I like new people to join and add new things. I love competition."
Alves: "Messi told me I wouldn't find a better club than Barça."
Alves: "If it was about the money, I wouldn't be at Barça anymore. I follow my heart."
Alves: "The treble celebrations at Camp Nou made me feel valued. I realized that I was wrong - the fans love me."
Alves: "I stay because on Sunday it became clear that the majority of the people love me. Before, I had doubts. My heart asked me to stay."

Always refreshing to hear Alves in pressers. Much like Xavi in interviews, he speaks much more unfiltered from the heart. No sense of media training overshadowing and clouding the answers.

So not feeling valued was more about the fans than anything else?

A bit of everything in my opinion. No real support by the board, the fans, the fact that the club wanted to extend his contract only when there was the ban (etc).
Anyway, happy to see him staying. As Leo said, there's no better place than Barcelona and no better club than FCB.

Fans were the difference maker for Alves it seems. Its why we are a greater club than Real.

Pretty sure RM fans would be just as supportive for any of their players if they had performed as Alves did and the club has just done a treble. I think Real Madrid fans might have the worst fans of almost any top club but Barcelona fans aren't anything special.

Success spoils. Watching some old Barca videos from the 90s and fans at Camp Nou make you just see how much.

Makes me wonder why we don't have the Boxois Noix (or whatever they're called) come back. I know they were banned in the early and mid 2000's but the tourist and family friendly atmosphere needs to go. I remember the 4-0 against Milan was the loudest i seen the Camp Nou in years

They're back. Rosell allowed them back again, however they're not the group they were a long time ago.

They were banned for a reason though. The Boixos Noix went through a major change in the 80s, 90s from an socialist-liberal ultras group to a fascist criminal organization vastly involved in the organized crime in Catalunya.

How has this turned into an argument about the atmosphere in our stadium? If anything those "hardcore" fans would be the first ones to boo a player they're not happy with. Would you rather have a war atmosphere where fans beat each other up than a family friendly game? If yes, you should watch Turkish derbies.

I don't wanna insult anyone but I get so annoyed over people who complain about the stadium atmosphere over the internet while they themselves hardly go to Camp Nou, if they've ever been at all. Every big game in the last 10 years has been great. Can't expect people who see Barcelona play every three games (spoiled) + tourists and random foreign supporters that occasionally come to the stadium go ham over a Barcelona - Real Sociedad game.

Called up to Brazil's Copa America squad to replace the injured Danilo?

Damn, I was hoping he'd get a rest this summer
