Not only on international level. Clubs are shit too. The quality of footballers has declined since 90s despite the hailed "professionalism" that's supposed to be on higher level all around. Maybe the average teams and players are playing on higher professional level, but it's mostly mediocrity all around. No stand out players and very few teams that play unique style. Just weak clones of Pep ball or Klopp ball.

I think the level is just as high today as at any time. Today it's harder to stand out skill wise because you are playing against more athletic players nowadays and the game is also much faster

I don't really believe that. Young Messi and Ronaldo would kill top leagues just like they did ten years ago.
Messi and Ronaldo with modern technology and diet would be better too today or even without it.. they would crush.

I was talking more about post 2000 being harder to stand out in. They have both done it playing against athletes and the game being at its quickest

tested positive for Covid :crbust:

Clubs didn't want to. FIFA did it anyone and now a star player has it

So Neymar, Mbappe, Zlatan and CR150 caught it. Only Messi stays corona free. LEGEND.

Football is going through a transitional period and I think now is arguably the worst period in football history in terms of overall quality at least since the 70s.

Late 90s, early 00s were the peak. You had 15+ players from all positions vying for best in the world perhaps in history. We seen WC forwards, wingers, midfielders, goalkeepers and defenders. There were like 5 freekick specialists that were competing with the record. What a time to be alive.

I think sooner or later most footballers will catch it. Would be devastating if our best players caught it during CL knockouts.

At least CR should be safe for the remainder of the season.

Probably, but it is possible to infected again within a few months with a different strain, typically a lot milder the 2nd time though, or so it seems.
