His overall level of play (passing, ability to beat the man) is absolutely atrocious right now.

But just from his off the ball movement and unpredictability, he manages to find himself in goal scoring positions atleast 5-10 times per match.

He's like the antithesis to Messi right now. Diminished talent, smart play. Meanwhile Messi has all the talent still but plays into the hands of even subpar teams these days. He was in a goalscoring position maybe 1-2 times versus prague. Even Vidal was farther up the pitch most of the time.

It's sort of sickening to watch as a huge Messi fan.

Do you want messi to be someone who just hangs around the box laying of balls and making runs all day or do you want to watch an exciting genius at work? Messi still gets plenty of chances doing what he does and also creates plenty.

I want Messi and Barca to win CL trophies or atleast be competitive. Which he can provide by finishing chances in the final third as he is still the most lethal scorer in the world.

The creative genius bit has passed its expiration date. You might not like to hear it but Messi can't dominate top teams like Bayern, RM, Juve etc. REGULARLY like he used to from 06-15. He simply isn't in his physical prime anymore. There are one offs like that magical night v Liverpool but on a consistent basis, he can't dominate ALL aspects of the game like he used to.

There are two things he's by far the best in the world at: 1) finishing 2) making the creative pass to the final third. When he does 2, he usually can't do 1. And this is why we've lost all the away games in past 4 eliminations by 0-2 Atletico, 0-3 Juve, 0-3 Roma, and 0-4 Liverpool without scoring a goal. What I want is a proper manager who sets a proper midfield (now that we have the personnel to do so and not just Andre Gomes and washed up Iniesta) and instructs Messi to dominate in the final third. This is how we'll win CL trophies again.

Or you could watch his genius versus La Liga mid table teams and watch us and him get pummeled in CL games.

Losing those games wasn't because messi couldn't do what he used to it was more of the team playing badly so he couldn't really play his normal game. That and in two of those games himself and his two strike partners had just come back from tough conmebol world cup qualifiers. Bad timing really. Anyway last year he proved he could still dominate games in both finishing and creating and dribbling which you forgot and which he is still the best around at. If the team had played even decently in some of those games and he didn't have to constantly drop deep he would have dominated those as well.

not gonna shit on him as Juve aren't exactly looking great and we all know he'll be biding his time for the knockouts BUT its pretty hilarious how Ronaldo fanboys were going on and on and on about him 'banging in the goals' even when hes 40  now the excuse for his low return is 'well.. he is 35!'

Well to be fair to him he's not exactly playing with a very creative attacking style team like he was with real.

Anyone who says he's aging well is deluded. Even last season, all of his KO goals were headers or pen. Age catches up to everyone.

6 goals in 14 games. 2 pens. In a zombie league.

did he get injured?? Just seen the match time and seems bizarre to take him off in the 55th minute at 0-0

Edit: it looks like he has a knee injury. Went straight to the tunnel.

He looks as bad as Suarez.

Their overall play is atrocious but masked with goals from the service of others or Penaldos.

Declining at a rapid rate, but Sarri has shown himself to be a fraud and is unable to get his team to create chances despite it being his signature trait. Job is too big for him.

CR would have been better off moving to PSG and pumping his stats against farmers with Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria feeding him.

If Ronaldo isn't having multiple chances all game put on a plate or Penaldos then he's useless. Been the same for years, he's just used to getting that.

What he still has is his movement in the box and ability to raise his game for big CL games.

Juve aren't servicing him enough but imagine he swapped places with Messi. He'd be absolutely useless in this Barca team playing for the fraud.;

Should have stayed in Madrid tbh. They would have still been really good in the CL with him.
