Well done by his marketing team for boosting him to this award. Messi is by far the superior player and everyone including himself knows it. Honestly though I cannot wait until this guy goes away.
Who can take Football serious when this guy is still winning Ballon D'ors, don't get me wrong he's still a pretty great/good proacher or w/e however you wanna classify him but from a football standpoint there's better players than him.

Congratulations to Penaldo for the award, but the fact that nobody's even calling him the best player in the world speaks volumes about his performances over the year. Everybody's just like Ronaldo won somethings so he's going to get the award, nothing about his play whatsoever.
This guy was electrifying prior to 2012, but unfortunately Messi was at GOAT mode back then as well. Seems like he's winning the Ballon D'or based upon brand recognition and past reputation above all else these days. It's like the football community is paying him a hefty pension for his prior level of play.

Why didn't neuer win in, then? He had a won a world Cup in 2014. Ribbery also said he should had won in 2013 because he won more trophies, a treble. Every year it's different. Sometimes it's about team trophies, sometimes individual performances.

It's normally both stats and trophies. Agreed Neuer maybe should of won but as a keeper stats it's possible to use that as a factor. ronaldo had alot of goals granted alot against bad teams but thats how they can use it as a factor.

Ronaldo is tirning into the biggest fraud in the sport and most iverhyped player ever. He is an atg goalscorer and right now a quality poacher but he is not near top 5 players, nowhere near Messi and at all time levels in no way better than the likes of Cruyff.
Luck, his teammates, marketing and his name won him the award this year. Thats at least 2/4 undeserved ballon d'ors and people acting like 5/4 is a realistic portrayal of Messi vs Ronaldo are insane while it should have been 5/6 vs 2 by now.
At this point people automaticly seem to pit Messi and Ronaldo in the top 3 based on reputation. Then compare stats/awards amd unless some player has a goat season its decided like that who will win the ballon d'or.
