So to make out Barca had no money to spend in comparison to likes of Real is completely false. Reality is similar amounts were spent and club themselves have said it is not the cash issue when bemoaning FFP.

I am breaking it down to the cost on books as this is what the amount spent by a team is based on for FFP.

Barca cost on books is last summer for Inigo, Gundo and Romeu is similar to what Real are paying per year for Bellingham on books and and enough for example mentioned of a 60m players on 10m a season and a 30m player on 4/5m a season.

To make out 'Barca only spent 3m' is just ignorance or stupidity and ignoring what money was actually spent on books which is what is relevant.

Barcelona have a big cash flow problem. We can deal with some high costs coming in time, sowly, but can't deal with big payments at once, such as hefty transfer fees. That's most likely the issue.

Only way to solve it, realistically, while keeping the current model, is bank loans on poorer conditions for the club. Like kicking the problem and worsening it in the long run. It's just a bad financial problem. The loans have been exhausted probably, and the selling of assets too.

No thats not the case and club clearly outlined that cash not the issue and would borrow ahead of levers if not for FFP rules.

For me there's a clear break in financial coherence.

To generate a huge revenue organically, you need superstars. Messi, Neymar, things we did 5-6 years ago. But to get these superstars, you need big money first, some hundreds of millions present in the club accounts over 2-3 months. Money to be spent on transfers.

We're trying something with the new Camp Nou. Elevate that revenue by using a new stadium to draw more money organically.

Cash isnt the issue and making statements like 'where would Barca get 100m from?' is ridiculous and shows how little understanding have.

The revenue comment is irrelevant to any point made as revenue has to go up for FFP and future spending and to facilitate levers and borrowing already made.

All clubs always want to improve their revenue anyway.. it is not just Barca.

As said rich to moan about superstars when spending same on Lewa/Gundo as would take for Bellingham and up and coming player such as Doku... or any other want to pick in that range.

The sad part is the board and Xavi thought they were signing a 'superstar' in Lewa... thats the truth of it.

I'm not sure how bad we actually have to play before Xavi feels some serious pressure. The team looked disorganized and lost as always...and against absolute fodder. Had to rely on a shit penalty to win the game late.

The team tactics and structure is on Xavi, ontop of all his big signings being duds and mismanaged on top of it. Worst coach since pre Rijkard.

I see this discussion is derailed to financial issues. Are you guys high? We played a 4th division mid-table team. We should be able to field Barcelona B team and win this easily. Instead our first team starters get dominated and almost draw. At the end I was wishing for a draw. This is abysmal football by Xavi's team and no more arguments about player quality or financial issues have any merit. Xavi is really really bad. Not even mediocre. He needs to go asap or the following season will be a bust too.

You clearly don’t know that we need the buget of Manchester City to beat these teams convincingly.

How a poster derailed the match thread against Barbastro, citing money problems, is beyond me. Again, the match was against Barbastro, a fourth tier Spanish side, semi profesional club, team which increased standings of the stadium to about 5000 for this game alone. Hector Font alone must’ve had a bigger wage than all their players combined.

But somehow, someway, in this specific match thread, @serghei managed to make it about lack of funds. The fact that we were, at times, pinned back by this amateur team doesn’t register. That fact that our midfield was again all over the place was due to a lack of funds. No one can be this daft ffs.

And these games are tricky because we mostly play B team toungesters and bench players, not what we fielded last night.
