I think Gomes has shown signs of improvement the last few matches, I would much rather see Raki in that role, much better cover and link up play with Messi in my opinion.

I don't know if I'd say that Gomes has been better than Rakitic so far this season. The important thing has been that in most games, neither one has looked great. Beyond Iniesta (part-time player) and Busquets, the quality of our midfielders drops off a lot this year. I don't think we will ever see the quality from any of the rest of this year's swarm of midfielders that Barca has shown in recent years with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets. None of them are stinkers, but no stars, either.
