Many have predicted it every season. Fans and experts alike.

Most people consider epl better because of how competitive it is but imo quality of teams should always be the first priority to judge.

No one in recent years has really been saying the top EPL teams are as good as La Liga big three more that the teams in EPL are stronger across the board which I agree with and think they are.

Who was the last La Liga team to reach even the quarter finals of the CL? Most of them outwith big three dont even make it out their groups.

Improvin' Perfection!!
As long as EPL have the meaningless mickey mouse cup (read Carling Cup) tiring their players by the business end of the season they won't do jack shit in Europe! Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying that it's the main reason for them flopping in Europe, it of course still is poor tactics. But having a winter break sure should help the players to re-energize! And with EPL clubs being forced to play an extra cup and of course the greed for money cause of all the boxing day hoopla, the EPL is robbing that from their players!!

And no matter how much we decline it, the high level of competitiveness (which does exist) must be playing some role! I mean the money brings chance for all the clubs to build good teams, which would increase the level of competetiveness - increasing the chances for any minnow in getting a surprise result on a given day. Sure, the minnows would not be able to go ahead and win the league (Leicester being an exception) but there always is a chance for them to cause an upset on a given matchday. This should force the bigger clubs to try and play with their best possible team all the time rather than give chances to the youngsters or rotate. This would also end up tiring the bigger clubs come the business end of the season!! (We have been noticing this ourselves the lst few seasons)

The Carling Cup doesnt tire their players it is used to rotate players in/out more than anything.

It is excuses from English teams who blame that or games around xmas.

La Liga teams have the same amount of games over a season in the league and more at business end so all evens out.

It comes don to quality and for past few seasons Englands best have not been as good as Barca, Real or Atletico but the top teams and mid table teams have been stronger than rest in La Liga for me.

Think it’s more the grind of the PL games that make it tiring for the top teams

It seems like only city have the great depth to overcome all the games

It’s why depth is so important now. We saw that with real last year and a big reason why they won the CL

It doesn't matter who has the more top sides.

We have only 3 big guns and they have much more but our big guns are way better than their big guns and our smaller guns also have been regularly defeating epls smaller guns in the europa. Hell they even need their big teams to actually go on and win europa because they can't do the CL like chelsea and manu.

Their big teams very narrowly get out of their groups bar city and when they do get out its almost always a small journey for them unlike real barca and atletico who cement 1st spot like a cakewalk and perform better in later stages also.

The difference is we have 3 big teams and they have more but head to head our big teams are better than theirs and likewise in small teams also.

Without a doubt over the years but so far Chelsea won @ Atletico and spurs drew at real so it remains to be seen how things go this year

The Premier League teams play according to the rhythm of the night this season. They are seriously fast; in fact, they are seriously unstoppable.

There's lots of data to show the positive impact of a Winter break. It's not some gimmick that every new manager to the league says we need one.

What data?

The managers moan are the managers who across the board have the most expensive squads in world football and are allowed more room to rotate than most.

Don't think the English clubs actually have any room for rotation.
