Thing was Atleti were pretty dangerous in the first half and were moving the ball around really nicely. But then Antonio Lopez fucked up twice and it was game over. Very embarrassing for them. Lampard was outstanding tonight, sorry but plenty of the touches and passes (including the first goal, reverse ball to Cole) you would never see from Gerrard. He has so much more subtlety and guile. He may not be scoring but his form is good.

Yeah, Lampard isn't in scoring form but his play has generally been pretty good, I think as the season goes on he'll improve. To be honest, other than being better than Lampard athletically, Gerrard isn't a superior footballer.

good win against Apoel, a little bit hard but the most important are the 3 points

great week for the French clubs in both CL and Europa league. Vital away wins for Marseille and Lyon and impressive home win for Bordeaux. Lille also had a great game with Genoa, only Toulouse lost badly.
On the other hand, La Liga clubs had a terrible round in Europe. Barcelona lost at Nou Camp to Rubin Kazan, Real Madrid struggled at home as well to their closest rival in Europe, which is very painful (but pretty predictable having in mind that BWin has close relationship with both clubs), Valencia won only a point at Mestalla having lost Villa for the next one or two games, Villareal also lost in Rome, which practically ended their hopes for the next round, Atletico suffered in London. Only Sevilla and Bilbao won, but their opponents were nothing special, considering the poor run of Stuttgart in the domestic league.
