Valverde's comments on Vidal during his press conference.

He says he's a player that brings contagious energy, aggressiveness on and off the ball, shooting ability from distance, tremendous work rate and is a player that has barely ever missed any games statistically.

He also stressed that's he's a player of a certain profile like Paulinho, who many criticised before he had even played a minute of football for Barcelona, but then turned out to be an important player for us, and he says Vidal will be much the same.

He says Barca has 'space' for players of difference profiles, including a physical player like Paulinho or Vidal, as well as a player with the classic Barcelona profile like Arthur.

My translation is admittedly not the best and I am obviously paraphrasing but that's essentially the gist of what he said.

It is a good transfer. Even Pep had some lucrative midfielders like Yaya and Keita. It's not like he was alergic to strong, good-workrate players that put in a hard physical shift.

Isn't Pep playing Fernandinho at City? Pep even used Vidal at Bayern Munich. If Pep worked with him and found him very good, then he must not be that poorly disciplined, because we all know Pep takes no shit in this department. He's also a technically underrated player. Again, you can't play for Guardiola if you're not a technical player. The fact that Pep signed him for his Bayern Munich should show us that Vidal is a very good addition for the money. If this dude was 27-28 instead of 31 he would've cost a ton of money.

Squad is incredible this year. Best in the world. We have some experienced players that are just around 30 years old, we have starters in the best age career-wise (24-27), we have fresh blood coming from behind (20-23). We have options on each position. Every addition this summer was quality.

With this squad, the manager should have the balls to bench the under performing players. There are options on the bench of similar quality.

I find it surprising that Real have been quite passive in market. I thought they'd get a big signing for sure. Someone like Lewandowski Hazard or even Neymar.

Market sucks bad though. Lewandowski is almost 30, Hazard is 27, Neymar unavailable. If you look at their transfers over the past ten years, 95% have been 24 years old or younger.

I dont know what to think about this signing. He's old, but has that energy and mentality of the winner. But, in the other hand, if the injury thing avoid us, treble or bust expectation is all over

Bizarre signing like many over the past few years , Bayern pulled a master stroke here. best days are well gone and will be injured most of his contract.

https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/arturo-vidal-signs-for-barcelona-6974876

According to several media outlets the fee is 18m euros fixed and 3m euros in variables.

Barto and company are killing it ATM. Gotta give credit when it's due.

O cmon, how easily is to make blind some barca fans with few fancy signings to forget all the shit bartro and his friend rosell did to barca, socios are the same, its sad

Best move for barca will be when bartomeu is done here, all this new signings doesnt mean much when you have uncompetitive board

Edit: only real madrid domination in CL did make this board to act, after 3 in 3 years, i guess its never to late
