Has he not been mostly terrible in the stretch of the last 20 or so games since the WC?

Easy to be reactive. I was actually rooting for him at the beginning of the season till that Allianz game where he started derailing our CL campaign...we had Bayern cornered and this guy missed 2-3 easy goals 1st half.

His workrate and desire cannot be questioned, the issue is things that are irreversible. Age and physical decline.
