Playing out of position on the right. Not his fault really, should reflect on the coach, not the player.

Out of position? He has played on the right for the Brazil NT and Liverpool many times. Don't start making excuses so early! This is how we got lumbered with Gomes and Arda.. people on here making a profession of excusing massively expensive players.

He played mostly on left side part of a front three In Liverpool. When Salah joined, he played briefly behind the strikers as the left wing #10. For Brazil, he played few times right wing #10 just because Neymar is occupying the left wing position. Doesn't meant it's his best position. Go watch some football before posting nonsense!

What you used was a straw man. No one said the right is his best position, we just said he knows the position - which he does and he cost €160 million. Learn basic football before sewaging the thread! :yuck::yuck:

I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. I know a basic law, does this make me a lawyer? No. And what his price tag has to do with anything I said? Are you saying because of his price tag, he could play everywhere? Reading comprehension = fail.

It is very simple. People who know nothing use 'straw men.'

It helps them when they don't have an argument like you don't on here with your zero knowledge and personal attacks.

No one said Countinho's best position was the right wing. We just said correctly he is familiar with it - which he is. Because you did not have a leg to stand on besides your vulgarity - you stated the right wing is not his 'best position.' However no one said it was his best position. So what you are doing is turning a civislised debate to sewage. That is why you are going on the ol ignore list! Sleep well!

Damn. I saw the game and didn't notice him once. I might confuse and Messi at times, though. They look very similar.(playing style, size, numbe4 etc.)

Didn't loook too good. Certainly he has been poor compared to his Liverpool times.

If you put him on the right you take away his ability to cut in and play a pass or take a shot.

It's simple.

We all know how Klopp can get the best out of his players...well Ernesto has other talents :valverde:

Not his best game, even on RW he showed better games but in the end i don't expect much from offensively when he plays there. Don Andre's will leave so hopefully Cou will play on the left (LW, AM) next season and maybe EV remembers that we also have a really good young RW...

Or you could just realize that "out of position" in this context doesn't mean GK or CB = he cant properly play it. Of course he has played there and he can play there, no question. You can do this with all footballers, Ribery has played on RW too for french NT but he always was way better on LW.

People expect spectacular things, but how do you expect him to do something like cut in from the wing to shoot when he is right footed on RW? He will always play different there no matter what.

I remember his debut for us i was absolutely delighted but over time, not that his has played poorly, but certainly wish to see more from him considering the price tag that brought him here. He's been a bit underwhelming imo.

I feel like he is the type of player that is suited to a certain fixed position and set of duties, almost like a specialist of sorts... and he also needs to regularly play there to build a groove and get cooking. Like the opposite of sergi roberto in a way.

He's a peculiar player.

We should have bought Hazard instead of Coutinho, I'm afraid he's just a very good player, not really a world class and certainly not worth 150 mil. €. Just terrible, terrible planning with using Neymar transfer money and spending it on two players that can't fit in.
