4 - Ronald Araújo

His fuck-up could change the next 5 years of this club...a CL final would have been HUGE for us, and we were doing well at 4-2.

Unforgivable offense.
It was terrible but we should be very careful not to pin the entire result on this one moment because we still had options being 2 goals up down a man, that's a defensible result.

Often when we go behind or have an unfortunate event impact our game we get hung up on it and can never leave it behind... we see that on the field... the players struggle to play when they think they have been slighted or that they deserve more.
I still think at 2 goals up you should be able to continue to fight to hold the lead, even though, it is clear we would probably win without this red card.

He is too old to make such a miscalculation. Why risk playing with one man down during the entire game instead of letting the player have a shot at goal? Trust your goalkeeper. Worst case scenario and the ball would have gone in. We would still have been up by one goal.

It's only a defensible result for prime Atletico and Inter Milan (or RM with their voodoo).

Every other big club that plays attacking football usually is clueless from that point on IMO

Ironically; 2 goal advantage could have been defended. If sent off player was anyone bar Araujo. He is our leader on the pitch.

This is the type of moronic action that ruins an entire season worth of work and will cost the club millions in revenue.

This guy is a fucking idiot.

All the morons we had in defense in recent years...Pique, Lenglet, Umtiti, Yerry Mina, Bartra etc...all combined have not made an error of this magnitude.

This guy deserves to get boo'd out of the stadium every time he's on the pitch.

PSG let him have the ball and cut out the pass to Cubarsi. LE's plan worked in the best possible way lol. Two brainfarts in 3 seconds and that's the tie thrown. Unacceptable mistakes at this level.

I feel like you guys forget about his previous brainfarts. He has inclinication to completely overreact and has gifted penalties out of conplete air. Hasn’t been first time. I am not sayin sell. But needs to work on concentration or something.

Defending a two goal advantage is not easy to do when the opposing team has the world best player as a forward.

he instinctively tried to make up for his mistake like most defenders do after a bad pass

still a braindead decision

The problem is Araujo is an essential player to the team because he is the only physical specimen we have in the entire defensive line. He is our best defender bar none.

A player like that should be told, and educated about his importance to the team, and realising he isn't the guy to "take a one for the team" but the guy that needs to stay there. He should have known that by now.

I would have been more understandable if it was a failed tackle, not grabbing someone neck/shoulder.

If it was Pedri/Cubarsi/Lewa gets a red card, we might have been able to defend that.
Losing a CB force you to change another player, we have essentially lost 2 starters, one of them is the heart and soul of our defense.

Doubt you are able to defend 10 vs 11 for so long with a team that is already hard to defend 11 vs 11 due to them having several very excellent players in 1 vs 1. PSG is the wrong team to go 10 men against for over an hour.

For 100m he should be sold imo. Can't miss the chance if it comes. He is strong, but he is not very smart, and has poor technique. So there are quite a few negatives that come with his physical attributes. Negatives that the top teams can exploit at this level.

De Jong also, too relaxed for my liking.

Makes the decision to take off your most dangerous forward that could make Mendes and Barcola hesitate a bit in pushing too much forward even stranger.

Especially for Inigo who has been underwhelming and was shit when he came on lol.

Might not have changed the result, but yeah....

It absolutely doesn't.

You can't take raphinha for obviously reasons and you have to leave on lewa, because being down to 10, 95% of the times the only option you had to get the ball up field was to go long and have someone hold the ball up.

Who was gonna do that? yamal.

There's more that comes into play. Like set pieces, maybe having a target man to play directly on him, someone who can keep the ball and wait for support. Lewandowski was very good in the first leg at that.

Taking Yamal out was the right decision imo, as hard as it was for the kid.
