4 - Ronald Araújo

Need these type of performances at the biggest stage, especially in CL. He has a real good chance to expose himself to the neutrals as one of the best CBs this season with the QF spotlights on.

Defence is brittle though, can be very good or very bad. Kounde has his lack of concentration and brainfarts, Cubarsi could from nowhere show his inexperience, Cancelo is non-existent in defence. Araujo, despite not being fully consistent himself, is probably what keeps this defence together with ter Stegen.

Would be stupid not to.
yeah, and buying the likes of Coutinho and Dembele, or more actual Torres and Raphinha with that money. If Barca showed anything in recent history, then it can't invest a big amount of money properly. Selling Araujo for 100m would be a minus transfer in the end, I'm sure of it.
But thankfully it's a nonesense story anyways, where some retarded journalist thought to make up a story for klicks after Cubarsi's game yesterday.

As good as Cubarsi has been, I'm not sure he'll be just as good if we sell Araujo and possibly Kounde as well and sign some scrub like Hermoso to play alongside him.

So be careful what you wish for if you want us to sell him.

Cubarsi and Araujo are supposed to be a pair, not each other's replacement.

The Beauty and the Beast!

Cubarsi the cultured, ball playing CB and Araujo the physical, tall, fast enforcer CB.

Talk of us having to sell players this summer to balance the books on TNT Sports last night.
He is someone we would get a big fee for. United or even City.
Hope we dont lose him though, he has been great for us.

I dont want him to leave either, he is a top class player. He is someone we would get very big money for though. If we were backed into a corner financially.

You don't sell your best players and least of all a leader like Araujo.

These rumors are nonsense.

Barca will have to "unregister" 6 players from first team already:
That is free agents Alonso & Roberto, who are meh, Then loaned Felix & Cancelo who were both good value for the team, then Roque and Fermin who were both registered as injury replacement.
And we can't use so many La Masia players, as rules put a cap on number if players who aren't registered first team squad.
Non of those departures are considered saving either under the 60% rule (previously 1:4).

Someone has to go, a sacrifice has to be made. I know folks would list 17 players who we should sell before him, or other names, but there is a possibility that it will be the market who decides for us.
If we don't get Libro money, it might very well get ugly. It will be Laporta's biggest fuck up tbh. A real fuck up and not the usual stuff fans loves to complain about.
Araujo won't be untouchable in that case by any means. That is just the reality.

Probably have to sell one big player from each line.

Remember when Madrid sold Varane? Didn't make a difference.

We will be fine with selling Araujo too, even if it will hurt as he has identified strongly with the fans.

But first option is Kounde. The seeds are there. He wants to and prefers to play CB, but he will now exclusively be RB, and a 17 year old is ahead of him as a CB.

That is how you subtly push someone out and listen to offers.

Big problem is his wage is huge compared to Araujo. Basically double, so Araujo and Christensen are the easier sales.
