3 - Gerard Pique

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
He will be a Barca President as long as he has not burned all bridges with Laporta because he sure as hell burned all bridges with Rosell and next President will likely be one of the guys these two endorse unless they run themselves again.

I won't be surprised if Pique ends up being the guy who want a change of ownership model and sell 49% of the club if our financial woes continue.

Why would Pique need endorsement? His is better known than all presidents combined, who had no affiliations with the club before running the first time. And I'd wager he has support from different circles in Catalunya.

It will be Pique vs Honorary Queen of Catalunya Shakira in the next elections.

Winner becomes new Barcelona President + gets the kids.

It's a blasphemy to put in the same sentence Laporta who, despite his mistakes, has done so much for the club,
Font, who is man with vision and successful at his business,

with an egoistic twat who tried multiple times to milk the club and take advantage of our bad state for his personal interest.

He should stay as far away from the presidency as possible if this club wants to have a future.
He will be worse than Bartomeu

Font and Laporta had no prior experience as sporting club presidents. And they had even less experience with football or FC Barcelona.

Laporta won the first time by promising David Beckham, FFS. The guy somehow fluked it by having to settle for Ronaldinho and then with the La Masia golden generation and Pep.

THey were less known and had less experience inside football, true
But both were/are not clowns like Pique.
If you have experience and you are a clown, having experience doesn't matter

Then, for the Nth time let's say again: being a footballer doesn't guarantee any success in post-footballer career
neither being a coach nor a president nor even a technical secretary for a football club

In that respect Font who is a super successful businesman with a clear vision is much more a guarantee of success than a clown how has been a great footballer in the past, and now pretends to be a businessman with laughable returns (like Kosmos and that crap) to show

Because Barcelona is a deeply political club where Rosell and Laporta's supporters are the biggest factions till this day.

And Pique doesn't exactly have a lot of buddies in the Barcelona Sports Press.

So your whole motive is him clowning around as a footballer? Regardless of the business ventures he is successful in, or regardless of the fact he has connections in world football and knows the club inside out.

You haven't even heard what his vision for the club would be.

He definitely will campaign to be the president one day, which is something he always aspired to do, probably not in the next election but won't be too far ahead.

Him retiring now and forfeiting around 32m buys him good publicity and helps build up his profile.

He will 100% be president. This early retirement is just another move in that direction. He is getting heaps of good publicity.

Isn't Font a guy who's every answer was: Xavi this, Xavi that?

So, he is a good businessman who knows nothing about football.

No thanks, give me Pique.

People love former players.

If we gave chances to Pep, Lucho, Xavi as coaches, people will do the same with Pique as a president.

Especially if the results will continue to be Titanic-grey.
And nothing indicates that our team, players or results will get better in let's say 5 years.

Fans will get angry, sad, miserable.
A former favorite Pique will offer a new beginning.

I don't see any obstacles for him.
He is way more popular and loved than all presidents together.
Barto is in jail.
And Laporta is more or less ruining the club in his second stint.

I don't like clichees, but you really need to try hard to be worse than Laporta currently.

Wrong coach, horrible transfers, questionable financial decisions, questionable future direction (Barca DNA or move forward?).

BBZ Fact Check

Bartomeu is in fact not in jail and haw recently been completely vindicated in the beymar case of ANY wrong doing along with Sandro and Neymar

Read Font's whole programme
He was the candidate with the most detailed plan, and clear idea how to rejuvenate the club on many levels.
His obsession with Xavi can't erase that.

With Font, we would have a clear structure by now, and a clear idea on how to move commercially.

Laporta doesn't have that. He is more ad-hoc in everything that he does. He stumbles upon his way, be it mistakes or good moves.
Some things might happen to be correct (like hiring Pep in his 1st stint, or Spotify deal now), some will turn out huge mistakes (Xavi as a coach?)
but still it's amateurish to move like that

PS: Both of them though, have good intentions and put above all the well-being of the club.
Something that Pique, who is certified twat in every aspect of human life, won't do

Didn't he flop along with Umtiti and got ruined by Dzeko that season?

He was ok under EV, but not world class or anything.

Humiliations in Europe became a thing starting with Lucho's 3rd season, 2016-17.

Ah okay, that one game the whole team was in shambles, you can't really pin it on him alone. I'm saying overall throughout the whole season he was someone you could count on.
